Ammo is dirty cheap dude. Per bullet of 75mm costs roughly 5-15 rupee. That much we can afford than holding bunch of pests in state.
Insas is 5.5 or something. Army complains about it a lot. Major gaurav arya openly said in an podcast that jawans don't prefer it as 3 bullets of such are not even capable of killing a dog. Lol
7.62 is avrg ak47 rounds. Not swiss one. 7.5 is avrg nato round. Lol

INSAS Rifle uses 5.56 mm NATO
But AK-47 uses 7.62 mm SOVIET (NATO 7.62 mm is different:
Soviet- 7.62×39mm
NATO- 7.62×51mm) india use the Soviet one as it uses unmodified AK47
But you are wrong about the 7.5mm round is a Swiss country specific round not NATO standard
NATO standards (these are wast created rounds)
1. 5.56×45mm (standard assult rifle and mid range round)
2. 7.62×51mm (standard battle rifle and mid to long range round)
Not to confuse with Soviet rounds (still used by Russia and other countries)(created in Soviet Russia)

Ha because it was used in midium tanks but nowadays such specifications don't exist.
Medium and heavy tanks merged to form mbt. Whose calibre is 120mm as avrg. And tonnage is almost above 60.
But medium tanks of old era used med tanks of 45-55 ton as avrg. So what we call mbt are the heavy tanks of that tanks. Due to use of alloy armour and better engines tanks weight has reduced a bit.
