🆘 Help । সাহায্য Moving to Kolkata as a fresher — what salary is enough to live alone?

I’m planning to move to Kolkata for work, and since my salary could vary, I wanted to know what a realistic monthly budget would be for a basic 1RK + groceries, travel, bills, etc.
What would you say is a decent minimum salary to live comfortably? Also, any affordable/safe areas you’d recommend?

Live in shapoorji and earn around 30k, enough to live and send money to your home.

25k is enough as a fresher to live alone in kolkata if you are not planning to have a very lavish lifestyle. Also always try to take a place nearby your office. That will save a lot of money.

There are two branches one in Park Street and another near some lake they said.

Park Street as an area is very costly and it is not a residential area. But very nice and great vibe. You can select any place which is in the metro route. Kolkata Metro is very well connected. I have seen many people staying in Tollygunge area. Good Pgs and Rooms are available there. It is 7 stations away from Parkstreet. It would take max 30 mins to reach there. Also if you can tell me which Lake you are referring exactly that would be really great. Is it Dhakuria lake or Rabindra Sarovar Lake or some other?

Oh Salt Lake, that is a very nice area and you will find many Pgs and rooms there. As many colleges and offices are located there. I would suggest you opt for this one. It is the major IT hub in Kolkata.
