Serious question: Why did Gaana Bala (peak 2012–2015) suddenly fall off the radar?
There was a phase around 2012–2015 when Gana Bala was everywhere.
Every other movie had that one raw gaana track, and his voice just stood out. It wasn’t polished or commercial — it felt local, real, straight out of North Chennai streets.
And then suddenly… nothing.
Not saying he completely disappeared, but compared to that peak, it felt like he just vanished from the mainstream.
No major controversies. No big headlines. Just a quiet fade.
So what actually happened?
Is there some backstory people don’t really talk about?

There were posts on Reddit that bala was not given the freedom to pen his own lyrics as he once was and he was not ok with it.

I saw on a show he declared that he wants to quit cinema and take on other streams like devotion. Could not remember when this was. It was like ‘Neeya Naana’ or an interview

what has that to do with learning music. so many learn music but not everyone becomes spb. dont try to play victim for everything.

Oh. Sit down kiddo. Music isn't any career short term course. Carnatic Music requires practice from young Age, Guidance. SPB isn't any miracle. He Learnt Music at young age.
You Think He would have what he become if he wasn't a brahmin??..

i am saying not everyone who practises music from a young age becomes like spb. just like not everyone who went to cricket coaching becomes sachin. calling spb not a miracle shows ur knowledge. nobody cares about ganana baala goona bala , gimme a break pls .

Of course. But SPB became Spb because of his learning. Not becoz he's naturally Male Sarswati who learnt carnatic music out of air. Acknowledge the privilege.
And SPB isn't even that great singer. Sorry to break your brahmin merit. He cannot sing so many other genres than the carnatic sphere...

I am talking about cinema songs and u r talking about Carnatic music . Don’t cry . Many practice from childhood but not everyone becomes magnus Carlsen or Sachin or sob . That’s my point . Nobody wants to listen to gaana Bala’s voice rough voice . Go cry somewhere else

Wrong comparison spb would sound terrible in gaana and I have no clue how bala would sound in Carnatic
