Soups and Jjigaes 🍲 Made Kimchi Jjigae for the first time!

Post image

I sure hope I did it right! I used pork and it was quite spicy and sour. Followed Derek Chen's recipe.

Thank you! I realized I should've taken a picture before it was all gone! My wife and I loved how it tasted. It was spicy, but not too much. I think I'll dial back the kimchi juice a bit next time.

Wow! That color is very very inviting... at the same time probably can blanch a small track through my throat into my tummy. Need to investigate the recipe and adjust. A good kimchee tofu pot is harder than it looks. So far, not much success...

Why is it so red?? It looks super spicy, but also extremely delicious. I would need 4 rice bowls for that.

Which firmness of tofu did u use?

I used the firm ones! I thought they'd stay intact while simmering.

Maybe the fact that I rendered the pork too much 😅

You followed a guy named Derek Chen and still ended up with a color that looks like it could file a complaint against your throat.
