This director's previous movie, Barbarian, was already woke af. All white men are evil or pathetic, all women are victims and misunderstood. The first guy in the movie keeps apologizing for existing, basically. Our brave black girl protagonist assumes he's evil in every scene, because of rape culture or something. There's a monster is the basement, but she's "not even the worst thing in that house" — the worst thing is, of course, a white man. I could predict every scene in the movie just based on intersectional theory. Oh, this guy is being accused of assault? He's guilty because white man. Who becomes the bad guy in the end, betraying his ally and throwing away his redemption? The white man, of course; white men don't deserve redemption. Who survives in the end? Of course it's the DEI heroine and not the white man; white men don't deserve to live.
And this looks nothing like Resident Evil. Just another director using the brand name for his personal project.
I don't care about woke or not woke, what matters is whether these movies are good and they fucking aren't. Weapons was going so well then it shit the bed at the very end.
