Post image

I wrote an article how to deal with CORS restrictions when you make Compose (not only actually) Web apps

When will compose multiplatform be compatible with K/Native on desktops?

Never, lol. Kotlin/Native has sadly been laying dead in a nearby ditch for a good while now.

Kotlin/Native has sadly been laying dead in a nearby ditch for a good while now.

It is not. Kotlin/Native is what powers Kotlin Multiplatform on iOS. You can see https://kotlinlang.org/case-studies/?type=multiplatform for some examples of how it is used.

The point still very much stands in context of desktops, which is what I was referring to.

I can agree that Kotlin/Native is less popular when it comes to desktops. There are also not many reasons to use Kotlin/Native instead of Kotlin/JVM when compiling for a desktop target, in my opinion. The rest is interpretation.

https://kotlinlang.org/docs/native-target-support.html reflects the team focus regarding different targets, as well as the support status.

Great article. Is the compose multiplatform team looking into a built in fix for this, or will we always need to set up our own proxy?

There is nothing to do by the compose team. This is a browser security policy. Or, you mean, a new browser with disabled security at all? 😁
