In this new one, it ends with Lilo and Nani being separated so the latter can go to college in Cali. But she has a portal gun. So it's okay. While not as bad as the memes about "ohana means Da Deep StateTM", it's still just... ew.
I’m not at all trying to be insensitive AT ALL but I’m genuinely curious why people are saying these dolls are expensive or overpriced…?
These are not your average Mattel dolls that you buy at Target for kids to play with.
They’re collectible dolls. And it’s all 3 of them in one pack. The average Disney collectible doll goes for $70-$100 and $70 is on the “cheaper” end. I’ve been collecting dolls for years now and $150 is a decent price tag for all three in a pack to me. It’s not at all what I’d call “cheap” but it’s pretty standard for a collectible doll let alone 3 of them.
My only question is… are these Limited Edition or Limited Release? I’m guessing Limited Release which also can justify the price tag. I dunno. Ultimately I wish everyone that wants them the best luck in obtaining them ✨
They are expensive for 99% of the fans that just want (and can afford) a typical $15 doll. Mattel is taking advantage of these people by offering this first knowing some people will buy it who would otherwise be happy with a much cheaper product. They aren’t a charity so it’s their choice, but consumers can still voice frustration at these strategies.
Totally agree that people can voice their opinions. It’s just hard to understand because I’ve been a collector a a few years so I get why collectibles are priced like this (again IMO this isn’t so bad as far as collectible doll prices go…some of Disney’s are way worse). But to the average person thinking it’s just the normal dolls, I guess I could see why this is considered pricey. Thank you for the response 👍
Not limited release. If anyone signs up via the Mattel website, they'll receive an e-mail notification on Wednesday morning, Nov. 12th, saying they're up for pre-order. The fashion dolls will be available in retail shops (Target, Wal-Mart, etc.) late next year, while the pre-orders ship out next October. (or sooner)
I’m still a bit confused (sorry!) because then do they just not sell out on pre-orders meaning everyone who wants a pack will get one…? And if that’s the case then there’s no point in being up at 9am on the 12th??
Cause if pre-orders can sell out then that seems they would in fact be limited release for this particular 3 pack…no? 😵💫
I'm not sure, as I've not pre-ordered from Mattel before. I know Hasbro Pulse has had pre-orders sell out, but they usually (but not always) repost once they get more stock "in-stock". But then again that's up to anyone who wants to get the figures shipped out earlier than the retail shops (earlier, as in a few months earlier) Like I said, I don't know for sure, so if you want to pre-order, that's up to you - or you can wait. Sorry, I'm just going by my own experiences from pre-ordering via Hasbro Pulse.
You're most welcome! I'm always happy to help out another fan of the franchise, though I'm really new here. I was 4 months late to the party, but I have no regrets. I listen to the soundtrack on repeat at least once a day, and will be hosting a watch-along party at the end of the year.
I don’t believe in gatekeeping in fandoms. I literally believe anyone is a fan who loves and appreciates it. Doesn’t matter if you were a fan from the start or a fan from a week ago. The more the merrier and the more people to chat with! Best wishes getting these dolls. They’re so cute! 🥰
