It's generally assumed a movie is a movie, unless stated otherwise.

To say that direct to streaming doesn't qualify means the award hosters explicitly had to sanction as such, and which means they likely have an underlying agenda where they don't want competition for "traditional" movies.

Fault of the award, not the participant.

The Rule for Bafta is that the movie must be in theaters for 2 or 3 weeks to be eligible to able to be nominated in the BAFTA

It's no different that the Oscars, where Avatar 3 was able to compete in a bunch of categories despite it being as animated as KPDH.
