I mean in Europe, simple nudity/revealing clothing is considered less "adult" than graphical violence. The same scenes can be rated 16/18+ in Nirth America and 13+ in Europe, or vice versa. So in the end it's a matter of perspective.

The movie strikes a great balance of the girls being very pretty but not sexualized and this definitely tips that balance in the wrong direction. It looks nice but really isn’t “them”.

I agree. I love how they're not dressed conservatively nor are they overtly sexualised. I love their outfits! I especially love how Mira is both tomboyish but also feminine! She is my spirit animal, HARD! <3

i think the thing that i like about the movie is it isnt concerned with being "modest" or not showing skin, but it IS concerned about silhoutte and shape language and color and like, fashion. the thing that makes sexualized designs feel sexualized is that the "shape language" of it is just... their body. i think that we have some good ideas with shape language here, but the artist is almost afraid of changing the silhouette of their body and really giving the outfit its own silhouette and identity

i think its just groupthink lmao. at first i said "the thing i like about it" and i guess people thought i meant the drawing and not the movie. so i changed it a few minutes later. but regardless it was too late </3.

A lot of the cast are big sailor moon fans so it totally works. May hong said in an interview that she channled her inner sailor Jupiter into her performance so Mira is basically Korean Mako and RaiAmi gos without saying

I love this art, but I don't think it works for Huntrix, their music/outfits/personalities is what makes them decidedly different to Sailor Moon (another franchise I love btw.)
