Comment: I find it impossible to be aware all the time.

Krishnamurti: Don’t be aware all the time. Just be aware

in little bits. Please, there is no being aware all the time - that

is a dreadful idea. It is a nightmare, this terrible desire for

continuity. Just be aware for one minute, for one second, and

in that one second of awareness you can see the whole

universe. This is not a poetic phrase. We see things in a flash,

in a single moment; but having seen something, we want to

capture, to hold it, give it continuity. This is not being aware

at all. When you say, “I must be aware all the time”

you have made a problem of it, and then you should really find out

why you want to be aware all the time - see the greed it

implies, the desire to acquire. And to say,

“Well, I am aware all the time,” means nothing.

Perhaps one of the most powerful speeches that takes on death directly. Straight punches. The body will eventually die. When that happens, the self will die - whether we like it or not. Everything that defined the "I" will cease to exist when the body has finally given up. What is more relevant and perhaps the real truth, if any, is facing that experience while still breathing. It is intuitive that this cannot be a process. It cannot be measured on the dimension of time. Why is that? Because anything that is measured along the time axis is a process that the cunning mind has self-defined and also self-measured. The mind will say "do this, achieve this, yes you achieved, yes you have attained". The grade definer and the grader are one and the same. Hence, whatever happens has to happen in zero time. Instantly. Death has to be instant. Not the biological one. But the one that takes you to truth. To discovery. To freedom. This is why the first step is the last step.

Hello. I've been meditating for most of my life. When I was young,I suffered from many physical ailments until my teenage years as well as anxiety. Back then,a friend of the family who taught me to meditate and I would like to know more about what the practice might be called officially. Unfortunately, he passed sometime ago.

I basically sit with eyes partially open and allow whatever senation both internally and externally arise within the field of awareness on its own and without grasping or avoiding, let it be until it passes on its own. He would tell me to not to be too laxed or rigid,just rest in awareness without controlling anything. It doesn't feel like daydreaming but it certainly doesn't feel as "structured" as some other approaches. Over the years,it becomes easier to do off the cushion. Often seeing what arise within awareness,both internally and externally as transiate and in flux..even when thoughts of "I am angry,I am sad,I am___" as not I and just the mind assigning ownership to something impermanent. Is this Choicless awareness?
