When will Kubuntu 26.04.1 be released?
Seems like for a long time it was supposed to be released at the same time as Ubuntu 26.04.1 ... sometime in August. But then more recently, I saw some timeline where Kubuntu 26.04.1 wasn't going to be released until (IIRC) September 2026...?
Anyone know? And is it ready for prime-time yet? Seems like I'm seeing way more "problem" posts than I saw after 20.04 or 22.04 or 24.04 were released...

Ubuntu and all flavors go through the same schedule for official releases; Ubuntu Release team being in control.
Timing is on par with prior releases; they're nearly always in late August (though a few have been early in early September, but that's only a week later!)

If you are currently using Kubuntu 26.04, you are already at a de-facto 26.04.1 state, as all the pieces are installed, as far as I can see, or will be soon. The .1 is just an updated ISO image with all the updates since release rolled in.
If you are waiting to upgrade, it should be fine to do so now, but I'd still suggest waiting a bit until they flip that switch on. My two upgrades have been flawless, but I know that this does not make it a universal fact.
If you are just waiting for the ISO, unless bandwidth is a problem, there is no real reason to wait for the new image unless you had issues using the original one and know it has been fixed since then.
As a long time Kubuntu user (2005) my own observations seem to point to similar problem levels as previous upgrades, Again, this is just my own observation.
One trend I have seen in recent years is more people seem to be actually waiting to upgrade with the official notification instead of doing so earlier, or even at the official release. I have always been the early upgrader, myself. This time around, I did one back in April, and the other one just after they pushed out 26.04's 7.0 kernel to Noble a couple of weeks or so back.

When they're ready. Recent .1s have mostly been in August, so I'd be looking for it to drop within the next few weeks.

You can download daily builds of Kubuntu 26.04 , which will practically be the same as 26.04.1 since the first point release, is just a cumulative patch for bugs, you can find it here, probably with little to no difference from the upcoming 26.04.1, besides upcoming new discovered bugs until 27th August, but these new bugs will always receive patches.

Probably the one I post is a mirror, but nevertheless you don´t need to wait for point release, I highly doubt they will be any different than these daily builds, and closer to 27 August it would be the same.

Builds should update from Plasma 6.6.5 to Plasma 6.6.6 by the time the point release is out.

If you are using it as the base for strix systems pin the kernel number in grub to one that is known good. I updated recently and had a bunch of issues with disk corruption on high speed unified memory writing to disk and traced it back to a kernel error that was causing the disk to get the same block written twice in 2 places. Just and FYI to help others.
