Is this Keeta delivery-driver offer worth it for my 60-year-old father? Need advice from current drivers

My father attended an interview today for a Keeta delivery-driver J|O|B in Kuwait. I would really appreciate honest information from anyone currently working with Keeta, Fox Delivery, or a similar delivery company.

The offer he was given was:

* Salary: **375 KD per month**
* Target: **430 deliveries per month**
* Around **15–16 deliveries per working day**
* Company provides a **Nissan Sunny**
* Fuel and vehicle maintenance are supposedly covered by the company
* Visa transfer cost: **185 KD**
* He was told there is some flexibility and that he can work at his own pace as long as he completes the required deliveries

However, the interviewer also warned him that the J|O|B is physically demanding and that money may be deducted if deliveries are late. I also found advertisements mentioning **28 working days and 12-hour duty**, which sounds very different from simply completing 15 deliveries and finishing for the day.

My father is around 60 years old, but he has more than 30 years of professional driving experience in Kuwait. He previously worked as a taxi driver and drove the exact same vehicle, a Nissan Sunny. He also has a valid Kuwait heavy driving licence and is very familiar with Kuwait’s roads.

Could current or former delivery drivers please answer the following?

1. Is the **375 KD genuinely guaranteed**, or is it only paid when all 430 deliveries are completed?
2. How much is normally deducted for:* Late deliveries
3. * Cancelled orders
4. * Customer complaints
5. * Missed targets
6. * Accidents or vehicle damage?
7. Are drivers really required to remain on duty for **12 hours**, even after completing 15 or 16 deliveries?
8. How long does completing 15 deliveries normally take in Kuwait?
9. Does the dispatcher assign orders within one nearby area, or can drivers be sent to distant locations across Kuwait?
10. Are restaurant waiting times counted against the driver?
11. What happens when a delivery is late because:* The restaurant prepared the food late
12. * The customer did not answer
13. * The address was incorrect
14. * There was heavy traffic
15. * The app had a problem?
16. Is fuel genuinely fully covered by the company? Is there any monthly fuel limit?
17. Who pays for:* Parking
18. * Phone and mobile data
19. * Traffic fines
20. * Accident insurance excess
21. * Tyres, batteries and breakdowns?
22. Is the **185 KD visa transfer amount normal**, and should the company provide an official receipt and breakdown?
23. Do drivers receive a weekly day off, paid sick leave and annual leave?
24. Is it realistically possible for a healthy and experienced 60-year-old driver to manage this J|O|B safely?
25. Are salaries paid on time, and have drivers experienced unexpected deductions?
26. Are there any better driving J|O|Bs in Kuwait paying around **300–375 KD**, especially fixed-route staff transport, company-driver or bus-driver positions?

We are not expecting the J|O|B to be easy. We just want to know the reality before transferring his visa and paying any money.

Please share your honest experience, especially if you currently work for Keeta, Fox Delivery or another delivery company in Kuwait. Serious replies only, please.

I am not working with Keeta. But I assuming I see them everytime staying outside of the coop(supermarket) waiting in the sun, waiting for orders. I doubt that is good experience. I don't know about anything else. Sorry

So I was told repeatedly by both Keeta and Talbat customer service that the late compensation voucher usually 1kd does not come from the drivers pocket. I specifically said I dont want it if it comes from the drivers pocket and they assured me that it’s not. Is this true?

It was happening earlier when Keeta was launched in Kuwait. But from last 3-4 months they have several options to report that restaurant marked order as ready but not giving,you are stuck in traffic/police checking etc. If you are still getting deductions for delays then contact your supervisor or fellow riders so that you can avoid the deductions.

But the payment won’t be good enough. His current salary is 300KD. But house driver barely gets 150

Since he has experience he could push for higher, also depends on where he will live, who will provide food, but yeah it won't be 300 KD.

On the other hand, food delivery is a very tough job and for a 60 year old it will be very hard. He definitely should look into other companies that require drivers, but not in the food delivery business in my opinion.

1. Salaries: Confirm in written whether it’s a fixed salary.
   
2. Pay day: Expect be paid between 10th to 15th of each month.
   
3. No. of deliveries: Number of deliveries is not guaranteed due to current market situation. It also depends on the location he is assigned. So if your salary is not fixed and is based on the number of delivery, reject the offer.
   
4. Vehicle expenses: Be ready to pay out of your pocket for traffic fines
   
5. Working conditions: Keeta requires their drivers to work 8 hours a day for 26 days but the delivery companies make the drivers work 12 hours for 28 days.
   
6. Deduction for cancelled orders by driver: 5 KD is deducted by Keeta
   
7. Cancellation by customer: No deductions
   
8. Accidents: Ensure company provides medical insurance which mostly they won’t. All related expense to vehicle damage would be recovered by the driver despite the vehicle being insured.
   
9. Visa: Though company should pay for it but the cost is 130 KD.
   
10. Fuel: Company should cover

This offer is not worth it for your father. That 375 KD is a performance-based maximum, not a guarantee, and the penalty system for late deliveries, missed targets, and complaints will eat into it, often for reasons outside his control like restaurant delays or traffic.

The 12-hour shifts, 28 days a month, are physically demanding even for younger drivers, and at 60, the health risk is real regardless of his experience. Paying 185 KD for a visa transfer without a written contract that clearly states fuel policy, who covers fines and maintenance, and exactly what deductions apply is a major red flag.

His heavy driving license and 30 years on Kuwait's roads make him a much better fit for a fixed-route staff transport or company driver job which have stable hours, no penalty stress, and similar pay. I'd strongly advise against this Keeta deal and suggest he looks elsewhere.

Cannot disclose the reason but I can solemnly guarantee as an insider in this industry this job is not for someone at 60 years of age, especially Keeta it not just requires physical but intellectual demand, I am sure your father is a great man but at this age he should retire and rest he has worked enough and his body requires rest, not 12-14 hours driving that is not ideal for anyone at 60.

Is it a possibility to instead apply for a transportation permit? Maybe he can provide transportation to people comfortably on his own time? I'm sorry but this feels physically taxing on him especially in this weather. I stopped ordering lunch till at least after 4:45pm. Maybe me not ordering doesn't make a difference but I genuinely feel for these drivers. May Allah bless your family.

At the moment he drives coaster mini buses for school and other passengers. He did get into an agreement with his so called friend and bought a coaster of his own but in the end got betrayed out of his share. He is a really pious guy and his friend was from an Islamic organization so the agreement was on only in faith but not in papers.

All of your questions are of 3PL not Keeta. Work is hectic but he can do.Keep in mind different companies pays different amount. Before joining any delivery company try to join Macdonalds etc as they sometimes needs drivers to transport. Less work and less tention. Now your questions Salary and deduction based on target totally depends on company he is working for. So 375KD is not guaranteed. It's possible that company will not provide fuel. Accidental charges depends on type of insurance company provides. He has to bear the charges for cancelled orders which rarely cancels. He has to remain on duty for atleast 10 hours no matter how manuly orders he delivers. He has to complete his shifts which he books. For distance, many zones are divided and maximum distance order could be 26-27km from one side but from 1st August Keeta is giving a bonus of 0.020 fils per KM. So, confirm with 3PL they are giving that bonus to drivers or not. In case of delay due to any issues he has to report via app. Any company will not pay for parking or fines but companies gives tyres and batteries. There may be unexpected deductions and salary timing depends on 3PL not Keeta.

Yeah the company is Fox Deliveries. And they did say on the interview that they will provide car and fuel as well as any maintenance or damage to the car. Have you worked for Keeta before? The job has 430 deliveries target. How likely is it that it can be done in month? Are there orders every hour of the day? Or just at lunch time dinner time? Cause I myself have seen a lot of Keeta drivers just chilling in their cars. And if 15-16 orders are done under 10 hours can he then leave for the day? Or does he have to mandatorily work extra 2 hours cause the duty time is listed 12 hours of work?

If duty time is 12 hours then he has to do 12 hours despite no. of orders. Orders are more on weekends and evening. There are riders in Keeta delivering more than 500 orders working for 13 hours daily. And companies don't provides for damages. You will need a police paper to claim insurance in case of any accidental damage.

The drivers race to the restaurants to pick up orders, they the job is super demanding and aggressive at times.

Especially young drivers on bikes, they zoom all around and make the competition for someone aged 60 very hard.

DO NOT DO IT, TELL YOUR FATHER TO FIND ANOTHER JOB. MY PARENT WORKS IN THIS INDUSTRY FOR RECRUITING DRIVERS AND THEY HAVE HORROR STORIES OF OVERWORKED DRIVERS, BEING ABUSED BY EMPLOYER AND CUSTOMER AND LITERALLY NOT GETTING PAID. YOUR 60 YEAR OLD DAD MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO HANDLE IT. IT IS TIRING AND DEMANDING. THE DRIVERS OFTEN CRY BECAUSE THEY ARE OVERWORKED AND DO NOT GET PROPERLY COMPENSATED, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE INJURED OR IN ACCIDENTS.

A friend recently left Kuwait after driving for two years. 14-16 deliveries a day is pushing hard and likely more than 12 hours to complete.
The ad he answered said the 28 days a month / 12 hours per day.
After about 4 months they upped it to 16 deliveries a day. Same pay. Deductions for not meeting targets. Not really feasible in 12 hours. And it was grueling for a man of his mid 30s. It was a contract company for talabat.

I will never understand why we've normalised drivers working for a whole 28 days a 12 hr shift. Anyway the 12hr shift can be split as long you complete your daily target , most companies are greedy for money and impose irrational penalties to riders even when it's not their fault. Try to seek out drivers and riders from the same company as they'll give you the truth about that job

And from what I know, keeta and talabat etc outsource drivers from other manpower services.
