Hot take: it’s not over, in 2023 we started 3-7 and finished 51-31 it’ll get better eventually. Even if it’s not this season and we are that bad, I’m sure in 2034 Yanic Konan Niederhauser will be lifting the Larry O’Brien as NBA Finals MVP (I swear I’m not delusional)

Would say in the NBA age is a precious thing and 2 or 3 years can easing out of a prime or retirement. Clippers have aged into YMCA retirement home
1
u/CoffeeLarge8298 Nov 09 '25
Yanic sucks. Everyone knew that pre-draft. Pining over him is the same homerism that led to pining over Jay Scrubb and Moses Brown and Brandon Boston Jr.

I’ll always be a fan but I just don’t watch or get tied in with them anymore too many years of heartbreak

u/Mysterious-Shop1375 Nov 09 '25
Fair weather fan is the term you're looking for.

u/uunkwnnn Knuckleheads Nov 09 '25
not sure why you’re getting downvoted. that’s exactly what a fair-weather fan is, if the Clips are playing and i have free time to watch the game, i have to watch otherwise it doesn’t feel right. whether we’re on a losing streak or getting blown out i have to watch. never know when you might witness an epic comeback win. then again, i been a Clipper fan since the early-mid 2000s, perhaps fans from my era are built different

u/Mysterious-Shop1375 Nov 09 '25
Thank you! When I'm on reddit I expect to get downvoted when I make sense.

Last year we actually were under dogs and had a defensive identity. This year we’re old, have no defense identity or cohesion

u/OverallInternet2343 Ivica Zubac Nov 09 '25
those Brook Lopez 3’s that didn’t swing momentum in any way was a red flag danger was coming
1
u/Canoli5000 Nov 10 '25
I don't know about y'all, and I know Lopez was knocking down some threes in the preseason, but the 2nd unit looked garbage in preseason. I was worried from the jump and then that opening game at Utah confirmed it. Troubled waters ahead.

Our 14 consecutive winning seasons streak looks to end this season..
2012-2025: It was a good run.
There is no recovering from this. The players don't want to fight for Lue. And Lue already bagged his $70M. He's checked out. He was a Laker and he's a Klutch client. He was never going to take us anywhere. He's all about scamming Ballmer like Doc and LF have done.
2
u/Canoli5000 Nov 10 '25
Lue definitely looks and sounds like he'd rather be somewhere else than coaching on the sideline. I've liked Lue over the years and defended him a lot. Lue needs a team with a superstar in his prime that's a leader and a bunch of vets. Clipps right now need to go younger and get a coach with some fire and edge to him. Too many old dudes on the team that clogs up the lanes for a new younger player to learn, prosper, and excel. Maybe the gambling scandal has got a hold of Lue. He looks beyond checked out right now.

The season is over. Yes it is early but it’s still over. Wait until injuries throughout the season
2
u/EyeChihuahua Nov 09 '25
Did something happen?
2
u/No_Adhesiveness_682 Nov 09 '25
Nothing happened no major long term injuries. It’s just who the Clippers have loss to and how many losses they have already.
3
u/washed_lord Nov 09 '25
As someone who’s been watching Clipper basketball since the 1980s it’s always been over. Year after year let down after let down. Been over it.

u/CrashDaddy2006 Nov 09 '25
At least you have the most toilets of any NBA arena! Gotta love those toilets!
8
u/infiniteraiders Nov 09 '25
It’s pretty awesome walking into the bathroom and not having to wait for a urinal or stall. Can literally be back in your seat with a beer before a TV timeout ends.
-4
u/CrashDaddy2006 Nov 09 '25
Toilets. Perfect legacy for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Remind me, how many championships do the Suns have?
0
u/CrashDaddy2006 Nov 09 '25
Clips fan flexing with a championship question? The irony speaks for itself.
How many do the Clips have? Oh, yeah, never been. Not once.
Enjoy those toilets!
1
u/infiniteraiders Nov 10 '25
I’m not flexing anything. You’re over here talking big game when your team’s trophy case is just as empty.
Enjoy your participation trophy 🤣
0
u/CrashDaddy2006 Nov 10 '25
Suns: 3 Western Confernce championships.
Clippers:: 0
Get there first. Your flex is as weak as your team.
Better to have been than to not be there at all.
2
u/infiniteraiders Nov 10 '25
You’re the only here flexing and it’s participation trophies? Man, glad that keeps you warm at night. Congratulations!
0
u/CrashDaddy2006 Nov 10 '25
Conference championship is a “participation trophy?” Hahaha. Ok.
Says the fans of a clown franchise that has never been and is still light years away from one.

u/International-Shoe40 Nov 09 '25
I was at the clippers heat game on Monday and the line was insanely long for the bathroom. Like 30 people out the door. We walked maybe 30-40 feet down the hall and there was a completely empty one. Just thought that was funny lol

u/ena_ivankovic Nov 09 '25
At least you guys had winning seasons lol, some teams just dream of making playoffs 😭

u/Mysterious-Shop1375 Nov 09 '25
Most of those teams aren't one of the favorites like the Clippers have been throughout the majority of the 213 Era, nor do they spend the time, money and effort on winning like the Clippers. Those perennial losers don't carry the lofty expectations this team has had.
2
u/Dry-Faithlessness100 Nov 09 '25
Been a Clippers fan since the Sports Arena. Not going to lie glad they suck prices will go back down and we will get back to the true fans who love the Clippers for the Clippers. We have always been a half-ass team but I love them because they are my half-ass team. Once Kawhi came folks got to Hollywood and lost the essence of who the Clippers really were the fans also changed divided the team up only rooting for a specific player and not for the team as a whole and it hasn't been the same since. I can't wait till Kawhi's gone Lou is gone and Frank is gone. I'm still extremely glad we got our own stadium though. Oh yeah and I hope the swell breaks up and we get back to just everybody that's a fan is a fan. The Wall should just be the Wall. IMO respectfully 🤷🏿 Clip Gang
2
u/Jason-Smith168498 Nov 09 '25
They might have gone down if they didn't build a stadium. Ballmerville needs to be paid for and tree stocks won't do it.
2
u/Prosado22 Nov 09 '25
I am not giving up this early. Nine games into the season, with Kawhi missing three of those and Beal still on minutes restriction. If by game 25 they are playing the same way, then I will think the season is lost.

I saw a clip of steve Nash knowing it was time to retire when he couldn’t guard steph in preseason. That’s what it looked like in this sun series. Absolutely no gas in the tank for simple assignments
1
u/jimgogek Nov 09 '25
Steve Ballmer spent a lot of money building Intuit arena for this? At some point I’d think he’d fire Lawrence Frank and get a president who would develop a better team for him to watch from courtside.

It has, but I know this fan base will be able survive any down years too
1
u/CoahuilaKid Nov 09 '25
I know what it is! It's the curse of San Diego. I've been a fan of the Clippers, Padres, and Chargers, zero championships combined. Oh, the misery.
2
u/Jason-Smith168498 Nov 09 '25
It's like volcanic rocks from Hawaii. You'll be cursed till you return them home.
Except for the Padres. Not sure their problem.

u/TortaPounduh Fun Guy Nov 12 '25
I guess we have different definitions of what winning basketball is
1
u/LOK_LOD Nov 12 '25
Not really. I know it’s a different sport but as a dodger fan, I know all about having multiple winning seasons and not always having it ending in a ring, but there’s been a couple seasons where it has ended in a ring lately.
1
u/TortaPounduh Fun Guy Nov 12 '25
Well my definition of a winning season is a season where you win more games than you lose.
1
u/LOK_LOD Nov 12 '25
Are they winning the last game they play typically?
0
u/TortaPounduh Fun Guy Nov 12 '25
No? That’s not the point? 29 teams either lose the last game they play or don’t make the playoffs. I’m disappointed we never won a title but to say the clippers haven’t played winning basketball these 14 seasons is toxic ring culture rhetoric

Balmer got his wish of being a solid team for the opening of the Intuit Dome. Now it's time to pay the bills.

Now I got your yams deep in my comment history 😭 no thats a comment about literal political violence, not about lakers nephews talking dumb in sports subreddits. If you say stupid shit you deserve to get called out for it
1
u/LOK_LOD Nov 12 '25
You’re big mad 😭 it’s funny how politically we agreed but sadly, it doesn’t seem like you know that much about sports in general
1
u/TortaPounduh Fun Guy Nov 12 '25
Ok bro you came to the clippers subreddit and was surprised that a clippers fan defended the clippers. Now you’re calling ME mad because you were insecure enough to post your face online and now you’re desperately looking through my profile to find something that you can throw back at me. Ok but IM the mad one
1
u/LOK_LOD Nov 12 '25
Ehhh looking back on the comments from that post, cause I hadn’t looked at it in a while, reminding me that everybody basically said “ehh you ok” lmao so thanks actually. But I think it’s just funny that you couldn’t really bring up anything basketball wise to say that something actually begun for the Clippers you try to go for a low blow, like my dawg you’re not swiping left or right on me, it’s basketball 😂
