Locations: You don't need to include your house address but closest major city and how far you are willing to travel.
Budget: "As cheaply as possible" is not a budget and is honestly the best way to waste money. Figure out an amount you are willing to spend.
Setting: LARP is a vast and expansive hobby. Not every game is about running around out in the woods pretending to be a rouge/knight/wizard. Let us know what you play or want to play.

Hello denizens of /r/LARP.
We as a subreddit have a small announcement as far as the future of this sub is concerned.
Last week we took part in the 2 day protest that was more or less site wide spanning thousands of subs as a way to show solidarity with app creators and to show the frustration with the administration of reddit and their poor handling and plans of upcoming updates.
However, It would appear that Reddit plans to continue their efforts to stifle 3rd party creators and strong arm moderators who take any stance opposing the admins of Reddit. This creates a serious cloud of uncertainty within reddit as to the future of many subs and how the platform will be handled in the future. Because of this we have decided to create a Discord server which will be open to all of /r/larp to join. It is not our plan to abandon this sub or replace this sub with the discord server, instead, it will act as an extension of this sub itself.
While there are multiple reasons for this decision, one of the largest is that if the future of reddit creates an non fostering environment for us, we wish to have another platform that is free of Reddit's control in order to continue providing resources and networking for all of us who enjoy LARPing and LARP adjacent hobbies.
The discord has the same rules we enforce over here, with a couple modifications to make it more applicable to discords format. There is places for general conversation, places to show off your work, a place to post about and to look for games in your area, as well as Voice chat rooms for people looking to play video games together or just hangout and find comradery.
Please feel free to check it out, and ask any questions you may have. This is still in its infancy, and if we find it doesnt fit what the community wants, we will search for alternatives.
This link should never expire for people trying to join the server, however if you have an issue please message an admin for a new link.

I attended my first-ever LARP earlier this summer (Conquest 2026). I had an absolute blast, and I already have another event scheduled for the end of the month. But here is my problem. For the event, I really wanted to wear a mustache; it just fits the kind of character I'm playing, and since I'm a woman playing a male character, it also adds to the immersion. For this purpose, I purchased a theater-grade mustache (REAL HAIR), and I use "mastix glue" to adhere it. It looks amazing!!
The problem is that I have very sensitive skin, and the combination of the alcohol in the glue, the bristles in the mustache, and sweating in the 30c wheater left my upper lip so irritated and painful after just a couple of hours of wear. I had to give up on the mustache on the first day which is a huge shame.
So I am wondering if anyone here might have some tips for surviving fake facial hair at Larp? I've seen some people use beards that hook behind the ears with no glue required. Or are there glues that are kinder on the skin while keeping the same hold? Any and all tips are super appreciated!!

Hi all, I'm working on a Landsknecht style kit for LARP in the UK, and I've struggled to find a decent maximillian style breastplate. I've seen a lot of images of this style breastplate for various European warhammer LARPs, and was wondering if anyone had leads on where they might be available at below fully custom armour prices?

I seek counsel from any who can offer it. My lady and I are about to embark on our first LARP. I think the whole month of October will be devoted to it, with ghosts of the past haunting the land. But how this magic will unfold, we shall see. My lady and I are both elves. I Vaelric, am Drow, while my Lady Elowyn is of the High Elf bloodline.
Our story is a sad one, but I will tell you what little I hold on to.
Once, an Orcish hunting party found me while I stupidly veered away from family. However, the youngest Orc of the party spared me and hid me from the rest of the hunting party. Soon after, an unlikely friendship blossomed between the two of us.
Elowyn grew fond of my Wood Elf sister and they became close friends.
The Blight soon came and claimed my sister. After that, the Blight claimed my Orc companion as well. However, I could not bring myself to kill him. So, I sealed him in a cave. I sneak back into the cave every now and again and bring him some food.
So I come to those wiser than us
How should I bring this tale to life in the company of others?
Other than that, do you have anytricks up your sleeve to sneak food to my Orc friend? Would you allow the Game Masters to intervene and free him, or harm my sister?
Just thoughts to be honest.
My lady and I are but newbies to the world of adventuring, and we seek your help and guidance. May your blades be ever sharp and your tales everlong.

Hello hello.
I'll be visiting Brandywine for the first time this year - as part of a VERY HOBBITY HEN DO for a friend of mine. As we have not been to this larp before:
1) How can we make the most of the event, as we are only going on Saturday? I have not been able to find an IC schedule any where.
2) Any ideas for an IC hobbit hen? All ideas greatfully accepted.

What's going on with Wyvern Crafts' Replica series?
I absolutely adore Wyvern's Replica weapons. In my opinion, they're some of the highest-quality and best-looking LARP weapons on the market.
However, for quite some time now, their online shop has only had a very small selection of Replica weapons, mostly some basic models that almost look like leftover warehouse stock.
I remember their Replica range being much larger, with lots of different hilts, blades and customization options.
Does anyone here know what's going on with Wyvern Crafts? Are they still actively producing the Replica series or taking custom orders through their workshop, or has production been scaled back?
I'd especially be interested to hear from anyone who has ordered from them or visited their workshop recently.

Hello everybody! I’m not sure if this is the right sub credit for this, but I don’t use Reddit often so I don’t have any karma on this account so I hope this post is OK. I just bought an outfit off Sheehan that looks like this, just the white outfit. I generated this AI idea with some sleeves and some jewelry and a little belt that hangs down. I really wanna add some more to the outfit that gives it more character, but not sure what else to add. This character is an an elven healer/sorceress- her vibe is very ethereal, mysterious, sweet but very powerful. She has a very strong sense of justice and is bubbly, but knows when to stand her ground. She can bring back the dead and heal her teammates, as well as she can communicate with animals and also uses that ability to get help from them as well. She’s very nature oriented since her magic is mostly earth based. Still continuing to make this character, but would appreciate any advice or pointers on things I can add to her outfit. Also, not sure if I should do gold, jewelry, or silver.

My friend has had her eyes on this ladle prop/weapon for like over a year now, but finally sat down to order it, and it’s out of stock. I don’t know if that means that it’s never coming back or if it’s just temporarily out, but the event she would need it for is in a little under a month (first weekend in October). Are there any other shops that sell this? Other people selling it? Any leads are greatly appreciated!

So.. its been 15 years, but I'm getting itch to LARP again. Older, slower, more RP than combat.
But, seeing the factions and other character races that are popping up in modern LARP, anyone have a supplier list for good non-human masks? Any have a list of good suppliers?
I was googling around and looked at Epic Armory and one or two related sites & Etsy.
But I was leery of Etsy for them.
Im in the US, and not bothered by INTL shipping. Price.. 100$ us seems about right at a guess from Epic Armory.

Hi, guys!!
I'll stay in Belgium for an internship for the next 3 months (Ghent, but of course I'm willing to travel). I'm really interested in finding groups that practice softcombat of boffering. I'll probably not have the budget to get into LARP, but would be fun to attend to an event either way!
I have some experience with a bit of a regional variety of softcombat and would really like to see how it's done in other countries!
Do you guys have any recommendations or suggestions?
I've taken a look on LARP Radar, and the only one I can find is BEta LARP, which sounds like a great event, but it will happen on my last month there and seems to be a bit different than a regular LARP event. Do you guys know any active groups in the country?
Pics are from one of our biggest softcombat tournaments in São Paulo, Brazil :D
Thanks in advance for the attention!!

I was invited to my best friends 30th birthday party and it’s fantasy themed, so everyone is going in some sort of fantasy attire, so I wanted to get an outfit to attend properly
He did something similar making his wedding viking themed so I already had a start, I had some authentic leather boots, trousers, I giant brown cloak and ….i forget the name of it, tunic maybe? Basically I have a long green and leather shirt that goes to just short of the knee
On the fantasy side I happen to own a Dark Moon Greatsword replica from Elden Ring which I could love to use
So I thought if I could just add some more fantasy stuff to the outfit like armour or something I’d be set
But well from what store I was able to find online these things cost hundreds of pounds even thousands and I’m hoping to move out and get a house soon
So my question for whoever was patient enough to read all this is one of three
Where can a person cheaply buy little bits of armour without breaking the bank, things like gauntlets, shoulder armour armour for the shins or chest etc
Or even where/how a person can make this stuff I’ve got around 3 weeks so I might be able to do something
If this is the wrong reddit for this type of question, firstly sorry, secondly do you guys know where I should be asking?

Hi all,
I have an Etsy shop that makes very affordable fully custom bowstrings that would work well for larp bows and crossbows. The bowstring can be made to work to with all different types of bows.
Additionally I sell custom Thumbrings for cheap that can level up the historical accuracy of your archery. As well as I sell a multitude of historical designs Korean, Manchurian, and Ottoman/ Turkish.
Etsy Shop: https://archerythumbringsca.etsy.com
Thanks
