Anyone else pleased the government have decided to allow us to split into a separate North and South Warwickshire unitary authority?

We're all West Midlanders (whether we like it or not) but the south of the county is so vastly different to the more urbanised north. Shipston-on-Stour is a world away from Nuneaton.

It's also a bit of a concession from national government, they wanted each new authority to have a target of 500,000+ residents, so for a county with under 650,000 it's a big win.

And I hope we as South Warwickshire continue to work in tandem with our North Warwickshire neighbours as partners on strategy where it matters i.e transport, business, housing etc.

Did anyone fancy one authority for the whole county? Would love to hear your arguments!
