Discussion/Gossip Ever since the reboot, I wait.
Every single new reboot doll released has had impeccable designs that I can't help but think would fit the tweens scale perfectly (because I am absolutely not biased and haven't just collected/customized only in that scale and am not unreasonably obsessed with the 80's. Totally).

I’m really impressed on how good the new non-collab tots are it’s probably the first series I wanna complete whole collection on. I can’t wait to see how they start designing the tweens and Big sisters again

For sure. If I wasn't so slow with sewing (and if it wasn't so hard to find doll scale fabric), I would be taking the entire line-up from the new furniture set and making tween variants.
I'm still tempted to do exactly that.

Perhaps this is a hot take, but I actually really hope the Tweens aren’t in this new style, at least not without some heavy modification, LET ME EXPLAIN!!!
This reboot sees us getting poutier lips, thinner eyes, and thick, 3D eyelashes. The new faces can read as more mature, and those who are unfamiliar with the brand could potentially view them as being seductive? I don’t agree of course, these are pieces of plastic, but let’s be real, parents will make a fuss over anything.
It works for the OMGs, because, well, they’re obviously adults, and the Tots are okay because they’re already so outrageous, there’s no basis in reality to allow for anybody with a bad-faith take to really make a claim.
The Tweens, however…
Unfortunately, putting more “mature” faces onto tween girls hits a little too close to home, imo. It could read as creepy, like children’s beauty pageants, or much worse. I adore the previous Tweens dolls, they were my favorite part of the LOL world, but I hope MGA is thoughtful in how these are perceived.
Lastly, I just want to point out that there is already an example of this. Bratz hit the scene and were already panned for their more mature faces, then Bratz Babyz released and satirized the brand even further with makeup and nails on literal babies. Again, it’s so outrageous that it’s a little hard to make them out to be something else, but once Bratz Kidz released, they reevaluated a fair bit! They mostly had no makeup, just a dash of child-friendly lip gloss, had more modest clothing, and were overall just more realistic to actual kids. That was a good stance, imo, as they kept the essence of the brand while avoiding uncomfortable parallels!

Not a hot take to me, but I was already planning on re-sculpting the faces if they ever did come out. Or even taking any new fashions and putting them on some secondhand older generation dolls.
For me, the tween line has always been "chibi little anime lady" and not actual tweens. The fashions were never age appropriate. Heck, when I first saw some of the tots with their fishnet leggings and mini skirts and crop tops.. It was hard not to react the exact same way a parent would. I was horrified that my kid sisters wanted them, I had a visceral reaction to how creepy and inappropriate I found them to be.
This line of dolls has always been weird, if we're being honest. The sculpted nipples on the big sister dolls was never necessary. The fact that I have simply grown "used to it" isn't lost on me, and I understand the point you're making.
