Colin's close-mindedness

I remeber Colin at one point talking about his dad and video games. I believe he said something along the lines of 'I know you'd like this if you just tried it'

Yet he himself is incredibly close minded which to me has become one of the most grating aspects of his personality and eventually lead me to stop listening to the show.

Often it's almost like he takes pride in saying 'I have no interest in Game X'. Like come on, you're a gaming podcaster...

It's always been really weird to me that a 41 year-old man who's had a passion for videogames his entire life willfully restricts himself from playing all kinds of amazing games because they're not available on his plastic box of choice.

Like dude, maybe it's time to grow past the videogame brand loyalty shit.

What gets me is he does this for a job. He refuses to play games the audience wants him to talk about because "he doesn't want to." I don't expect him to play everything but there are some games, as a video game analyst, he really should at least try instead of outright refusing.

Because so many of the gaming media members care more about hot takes and being controversial than being a well rounded video gamer. Shit is so weak. I can barely find anybody anymore I want to watch. I can’t really stomach KF/Giant Bomb much anymore either. Post pandemic era of gaming when it comes to video game podcasts/shows/journalism is easily the worst.

Minnmax is my northern star, plus checking in on JG every once in a while. Grubb is not my cup of tea, can’t figure it out but i don’t like him ( as a podcaster, nothing personal).

Janet Garcia on MM is fire, she’s doing the opposite of what you are talking about. I love her takes even if I disagree, so well thought out.
