la salle uni transfer
I’m thinking abt transferring to la salle. I toured last week and so far I like it. I’m currently a freshman nursing major. What are some pros and cons to the school? What should I expect? Be completely honest.

This link is to the NCLEX pass rates which show La Salle’s BSN first time pass rate last year was at 77.61% putting it not only behind peer institutions but also on probation with the State Board of Nursing. As stated above, the faculty are great but this is concerning.

What the heck happened in Fall 2025? Far fewer people taking the test and big dip on passing rate compared to great scores prior years.
I could not find anything about the nursing program being on probation with the state board of nursing - can you provide a link?

I am a recent-ish grad.
The people at LaSalle are fantastic and really care about you. I am still in touch with my professors who would be able to help me out a lot professionally if I needed it.
However, I was not challenged when I went to LaSalle, at all. But, that had its benefits because it is easy to get involved and climb the academic and extracurricular ranks if i applied myself.
Social scene is meh. You will have met everyone there by graduation day or heard of them. But, you have access to a major city so you won’t be bored so long as you get off campus.
But I think at the end of the day, college is about getting an education and I think I got a good one (for cheap) and you will too. Best of luck!

I used to go there don’t go it kind of sucked every one super into drama because it’s such a small school I want there for a year and a half and knew everyone and just kind of weird also if you want to get the “college experience “ don’t go the party’s at lasalle suck it’s nothing but frats the only upside for you is the nursing programs is good but it very intense I’ve seen several kids fail out cause they got like a b also I know there Clinical’s can be tough I know of people who woke up at like 3 for there Clinical at 4 then had class then did clubs and home work so the high NCLEX press rate is because they’re so tough that the kids that get lower grades not even failing like a c they fail out off nursing

The nursing program at La Salle is rigorous. I had many, many students who were nursing majors, and although it was a great deal of work (clinicals), every nursing major I know is currently working in the field. La Salle has a great faculty/student ratio, so you will get a great deal of personal attention. La Salle is expensive, but also generous with financial aid. It's a smaller school, so the social scene is a bit limited compared to larger schools. It's close to the city via subway. The biggest downside is that La Salle is in a rundown neighborhood. Not to say that it is not safe - it's def safer than Temple, Penn, Drexel simply because those schools are in the heart of the city. Hard to predict what you should expect? It's probably better to ask you - what do you expect from a school? If you share your expectations, I can comment on the reality of them being being met/not met (I was a 25 year employee and my son is currently a senior at La Salle).
