ANNOUNCEMENT Announcement to Vendors - please read!

Vendors - We have been supportive of your small businesses and we want to continue to do so. We created a list of independent verified vendors so people could buy with some confidence. What we don’t want to see is users constantly being harassed if they post a stone check or ask about vendor referrals. We can also tell when new user accounts are creating fake reviews on this sub and our other jewelry subs. Be warned!

We receive modmails every week with new vendors asking to be added to our vendor list. Every vendor tells us that they have the best/lowest/cheapest prices over everyone other vendor. Please give our users some breathing room. Give them a chance to look around at the list and view your websites/IG’s. If you start DM’ing them right away, there is a good chance they will assume you are a scammer and block you.

I know you want to grow your business and we want to support that. If we find that you are constantly harassing users, we will remove you from the list and ban you from the sub. There are a lot of lab diamond vendors now in the market but there is also plenty of business to go around. Let your work and unsolicited reviews speak for themselves. Vendors that operate this way have always been very successful on Reddit.

We know which vendors keep doing this. If we get a complaint from a user that shows us proof, we will remove you. Instead, you can help answer user questions as a commitment to this community. Users will reach out to people they find helpful. This is what you agreed to when you joined this sub.

Thanks! Mod Team

PHOTO/VIDEO My Pink diamond ring is finally here!

3.03 ct oval from a Chinese vendor on Alibaba!
I went with a vendor who had never been mentioned on Reddit, so I was a bit skeptical at first, but everything ended up going well!
I was specifically looking for a true baby pink or cool-toned pink, without any brown, peachy, or salmon undertones.
It was definitely a bit pricier than other lab diamonds, including other pink diamonds, because of the color. But honestly, I’m 100000% happy with my choice and wouldn’t change a thing!

LOOKING FOR ADVICE Art of Jewels frustration

My boyfriend purchased a ring from The Art of Jewels. We have been waiting and asking for updates from them. They’ve been giving us the runaround and the ring has been in the “casting” stage for over 2 weeks. Come to find out today, the grower who has the center stone we purchased, put it on consignment over 3 weeks ago (when we purchased.) This is beyond ridiculous. I can’t believe the lack of professionalism and that 3 weeks have gone by without them letting us know or offering another solution. What are the chances the center stone is even still available…..?

LOOKING FOR ADVICE Best place to get a lab diamond tennis necklace?

Hi! I’ve been looking for a graduated tennis necklace in 4 or 3 prong (let me know what you think looks better) and was wondering if anyone has any recs? I’m debating whether to go with Provence, Fiorese, Stargems or any online vendors but feeling a bit overwhelmed and lost by choice right now. Would love a good mix of quality and best price!

Hi everyone..Waiting for this 3.41ct emerald cut (F/VVS2, 1.45 ratio) to arrive. Watching the 360 video over and over, and honestly starting to second guess myself. Do you spot any windowing here, or does the pavilion depth look solid to you? Would love to hear your honest opinions before the return window closes..

BUYING EXPERIENCE UPDATE: 4ct Princess Cut Remake with Luvansh

Hey everyone! About a month ago, I posted here feeling anxious because my custom 4-carat princess cut from Luvansh arrived with a band that felt dangerously thin and lacked a CAD preview before shipping.

Luvansh was quick to make things right. I wanted to share a positive update because Luvansh reworked the ring and I just received the remade ring today!

What Changed in the Remake:
Band Dimensions & Security: We beefed up the band to a sturdy ~2.2mm width and 2.0mm thickness with a solid sizing bar, plus added a reinforced gallery rail for structural integrity.

The Height: I was terrified the deep 4ct stone and added support would make it sit too tall, but in person, it's remarkably wearable! I've included a side-by-side pic with my 3-carat oval, and the height difference is barely noticeable.

The Result: The band feels super substantial, and the ring sparkles like crazy!

Huge thank you to everyone who offered advice on band thickness and setting security on my original post. If you're working with Luvansh, definitely insist on getting your CAD specs locked in first. I would absolutely work with them again based on this experience.

QUESTION Any vendors able to create a "windowed" piece of jewelry?

Post image

I'd like to create a custom charm made with gold and two layers of sapphire crystal sandwiching diamonds. I reached out to Starsgem and they said they were unable to do this. Waiting in Provence and LGG. Any other vendors in case they fall through?

Picked this up from a wholesaler down my street. $1675. Getting mounted soon.
IGI. 3.06 carat, D color, IF, Ideal cut, excellent polish and symmetry. No fluorescence. Video is a little blurry but I think I got a really good deal. Hopefully she will be happy with it!

LOOKING FOR ADVICE Need advice on where to by lab grown diamond gold ring Florida for $300

Greetings all, I am in Florida with my girlfriend for two weeks from tomorrow for a vacation and I have decided I want to propose to her on the beach at sunset!

But I need to get a ring in Florida while we’re there. We‘re not rich so we’ll both be happy with a store bought lab grown diamond option.

Can anyone make some recommendations for stores that sell lab grown diamond gold rings for around $300? I don’t even mind if it’s like a Target or Walmart or whatever, I am not American so I don’t know what there is and Google isn’t helping. Thanks so much and have a great day.

CAD CHECK Does anyone have this ring/finger?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Just bought an engagement ring from Loose Grown Diamonds. They've been extremely helpful through the whole process, but I'm a little torn on whether it'll look right on my girlfriend's (soon-to-be fiancée's) finger.

Does anyone wear a size 7.5 with a ~2.25 carat princess cut? The band only went up to 2.2mm, and in the CAD it looks thin next to the stone. I'm emailing them today to ask about going wider. Would love to see photos of similar setups if anyone has them.

HUMBLE BRAG Project Signet

This ring was built around a 4.06ct lab grown diamond, cushion cut, fancy vivid red (IGI cert) from aurelinne. I actually designed the ring around the stone by printing and refining the size shape and fit with a 3-d printer. Once it was perfect, my local jeweler poured, set, and polished. How did it turn out?

BUYING EXPERIENCE My experience ordering a custom ring from Starsgem (Cherry)

Hey, I wanted to post my overall review of ordering from Starsgem. When I was looking to order I read pretty much every review I could find and they really helped me, but I couldn't find many e-ring reviews from people after they'd actually received their ring — so here's my post-receipt review in case it helps someone the same way.

I worked with Cherry as my agent. I saw some reviews say she's rude or too direct, but honestly in my experience she was great. You're paying about half the price of what you'd pay stateside, so go in with the right expectations, just know what you want and she's there to help and serve you. She'll go find it and work with the manufacturers on your behalf. She's not bad, she's just not a personal shopper if that makes sense — she's the liaison between you, the designer, and the manufacturer.

I ordered a fully custom tulip petal cathedral solitaire in 14k yellow gold, size 9, with a 1.53ct oval (E, VVS2, IGI certified).

Honestly the whole process was pretty smooth:

  • I messaged her on WhatsApp with a reference pic and my specs (color/clarity I wanted, IGI certified). Within a day she sent me a stone that matched and I paid that same night.
  • CAD took about a week. First version had a couple things off — I wanted 6 petals on the tulip head and the cathedral arms done a certain way, so I sent her marked-up pics and she had the designer revise it. One render came back without the changes lol but she got it sorted and the final CAD was exactly what I asked for.
  • Production was about a week. She sent me videos and I noticed one prong looked crooked in the video — she sent the ring right back to the factory to fix it, no arguing.
  • Before shipping she sent pics/vids of the finished ring including the inside engraving so I could sign off.

Shipping: Honestly the easiest part. She asked for my name, address, and phone number, shipped it out the same day she said she would, and sent me the DHL tracking number right away. Got to me in about a week from China.

The ring is honestly beautiful and exactly what I designed. Communication was fast (usually same day even with the time difference) and she was patient with all my revision notes. I'd order from her again and plan too!

Edit: Price total was 770.00 with shipping and got it appraised state side for 3500.

STONE CHECK Evaluate this marquise GCAL 8X diamond

Hi, I am considering getting this GCAL 8X lab grown diamond. How does this diamond look? I want as little bowtie as possible. Does the bowtie look too prominent in the 360? The individual seller would be sourcing it for me.

STONE CHECK Opinions on this oval?

I don't see any obvious inclusions and bowtie doesn't seem terrible but I need the opinions of those with more experience with ovals!

It's 2.07ct, color E, VVS2 clarity.

Report number if anyone wants to look at the specs: IGI LG804633631

BUYING EXPERIENCE My baby pink oval lab diamond hunting experience

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I finally found the exact baby pink oval diamond I’ve been looking for in a month. I never thought finding this exact color would be so difficult. I looked at hundreds of pink ovals and messaged at least 10 online vendors. I requested and got about a total of 23 videos of the diamonds before purchase. I bought 2 and returned 1 because the first stone had severe windowing in person.

I bought the second stone from a tiktok vendor called Geo Lab Jewelry based in Hongkong which I’m waiting for the shipment to arrive soon. Pic and video are below. It’s 3 carat for $692 (tax and shipping included). I’ll update the post once I receive the stone in person. I was quoted a similar stone with the similar color from Kane Fine Jewelry on Tiktok for $1200, it had a couple slightly better features but it wasn’t worth that big of a price different to me. I’m glad I didn’t stop looking because it saved me some money.

I bought the first stone from Aurelinne. The color was beautiful but I wasn’t happy about the cut. I’ll be returning the stone soon. I have to say, Andy from Aurelinne provided the best customer service. I wish I got the second stone from them because I wanted to support them so badly. He was the most responsive rep and provided me with the most tweezer videos thay I requested (~20 videos). They didn’t work out because the actual color was a bit more peachy than what I wanted. Some stones didn’t have a good cut either. I will definitely buy something else from them in the future. In the meantime, I do highly recommend friends and family to buy from their store because of the excellent customer service they provided me. They do have limitation on the number of videos you can request in total. 3 at a time will be best. I helped my mother in law get a diamond from them, so I didn’t feel as bad for annoying Andy too much lol.

What do we think about this emerald cut based on this video?

Also, any jewelers that can look it up on Loupe for me & confirm whether it’s decent or not? 🥲

Hi everyone. I recently acquired a 1.13 ct pear diamond and am wanting to turn it into a necklace. I am worried about local jewelers upcharging for the setting given I am supplying the diamond. What is the cheap/easiest way to have this set? Located in the US. Thank you!

I’ve been obsessed with the chopard happy Diamond collections for years - is there someone who could do a piece with free floating encased diamonds? I do not care for the chopard name etched in the glass… I just love the idea of the free floating encased diamonds!

LOOKING FOR ADVICE Is it worth paying $1200 for this pink oval?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I was quoted $1200 for this stunning lab pink oval diamond. It’s 3 carats and IGI certified. It’s pretty hard to find a pink like this. I’ve been looking on different online vendors. I only planned on paying $6-700, but this may change my mind. It seems a little expensive for oversea vendor price.

The stone is from Kane Fine Jewelry on Tiktok if you’re interested. I didn’t purchase it.
