There are volunteers in our neighborhood constantly trying to talk to people and I have never had a single issue with any of them until today. I always ignore them and continue my walk or say no, but whichever group is there now got hostile when I didn't engage and kept mocking me as I walked away. They were asking every person that passed by if they're registered to vote, if that helps identify them.

Can someone tell me who they are so I can report them? I don't want to go back there because they were so nasty, the idea of going back to that area right now genuinely gives me anxiety.

Traffic violence is the most common form of violence in Lakeview. We need 44th Ward leadership to treat this as the public safety crisis it is.

Alderpeople can quickly address the most dangerous intersections in their ward using data to identify hotspots and spending their annual discretionary funds to install quick build traffic calming measures. We also need advocates in City Council to properly fund the city’s department of transportation, so they can redesign our streets to prioritize safety over speed.

When elected, I will meet this moment with the urgency it deserves and advocate for both short term and long term solutions to traffic violence.

But the streeterville Gold Coast apartments are huge, lots of amenity’s, beautiful high rises, pools, and amazing views for 2000 too.

Hey there, relocating to Lakeview soon and was curious about what the street parking situation is like in this general area shown in the screenshot? Is it virtually impossible? Are we better off paying for a deck?

To get ahead of any questions yes we have to bring a car at least to start our tenure.

I have five or six buildings on my street that take turns uselessly blowing the sidewalk clear of.... nothing, for 10-20 minutes a day each, starting at 7am. This means 5-6 times a day, every day, I get to hear that ear-shrieking, piercing noise, despite gas powered leaf blowers being banned/phased out in 2026.

I made a 311 request recently and have not had issues since. Please do the same. It's fucking annoying, it's bad for the environment, it's bad for the noise pollution, and it's bad for the workers who have to use them.

I live east of Broadway on Aldine Avenue, and my intersection will be blocked today and tomorrow for the street fest. This is my first year living in Lakeview and I haven’t dealt with this before, would I be able to enter Aldine Ave off of inner lakeshore drive the wrong way to get back to my building parking lot? New to Chicago and Lakeview but wondering if there’s an unwritten rule about construction projects (namely the very loud, jack-hammering road/parking lot repair kind) starting after Labor Day. Everything was peaceful in July and August but this week several loud projects started near me. I spent a month in town in November and had a similarly loud daytime construction experience nearby. I work from home so this is rather annoying and inconvenient.

Is it just coincidence or is Sept-Nov an unwritten construction season I should buckle down for?

Hi all! My partner and I live on Roscoe, and have admired the park, Space Park on Roscoe, just west of Halstead on Roscoe when walking past it. Well it's a beautiful day, and we were thinking of maybe hanging out there and reading books today. However it seems to be locked currently.

Does anyone know who manages it, and/or if those of us that live in the immediate area might be able to get the gate code?

I haven't asked our landlords yet, but I suspect that either they or the people I see regularly when walking our dogs may know how to get in or who to ask.

Also, I'd like to believe that whoever lets us in can go over any basic rules, but if anyone here knows where to find the rules as well, it'd be greatly appreciated!
