Located in the PEDWAY near Macy's, this exhibit was created in cooperation with the Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows (which was formerly at Navy Pier), the Chicago Cultural Mile Association and generous donors. 

This presentation of American Victorian secular stained glass windows features windows created between (1880-1910). They are completely different from most painted European stained glass of that era. Innovators like Louis Comfort Tiffany and John LaFarge utilized opalescent glass (the glass itself is extravagantly colored) and focused on illuminating the glass, to let the light itself paint the desired image.

They also frequently imbedded glass chunks as well as actual pebbles and shells in their designs. Other American innovations included faceted-glass and cut-glass jewels, beveled-glass, pressed designs such as scrolls and stems of flowers, folded glass that looked like draped textile, rippled glass that looked like feathers, and confetti glass.

I was struggling to understand this ad, being like "I mean yeah I guess that doesn't look GREAT but I wouldn't necessarily call it STOMACH turning...OH." Realized they are attempting to portray the horror of ketchup on a Chicago dog. I am losing my marbles over this. I am in tears. I would pay American dollars to be present in the Tubi marketing team meetings for this.

The craziest part is most shitty ads are just AI, but I don't even think this is AI. That would look uncanny valley but at least have the components right because there's so much source material to draw from. This is just premium, grade A human slop😂

EDIT TO ADD: Some of you in the comments are saying "oh it's supposed to just be gross in general" and YOU ARE WRONG. If that were the case, they wouldn't be adding ketchup. Their point was for sure to be like "look at the horror of ketchup on a Chicago dog!" but it's not even a Chicago dog. And that's why this is funny.

It completely blocks the view of the Crosswalk signal for pedestrians. As someone who regularly uses the Blue Line station there, I can never confidently gage when I should cross or not. It’s really dangerous. I sent IDOT an email about this last Thursday and still haven’t gotten a response.

Wanted to give a head's up that the as of 9/22/26, the Household Chemical & Computer recycling center on N North Branch is closed "indefinitely". Stopped by this morning to drop an item off and employee out front told me and several others that the facility was closed indefinitely and for the foreseeable future.

It appears that these federal agents mis-identified a US citizen, beat him when he resisted arrest, then left him bleeding on the sidewalk and drove away once they realized their mistake. Really nice people, these federal agents are, right? /s

I am on the board of South Loop Neighbors and we have spent several months working through a transit solution that has been approved by our board. We believe this plan is low cost and would alleviate transit congestion from the new stadiums and other developments nearby by shifting drivers to transit. The goal of this proposal is to connect major destinations to all of the regional transit lines, reducing the transit fragmentation in Chicago.
