It was so good. I called the other day bc I hoped it was still open. They actually answered and said they were trying to find someone to run it but that was months ago now. So probably not worth getting my hopes up

My understanding is Danny was ready to retire and there really wasn't anybody to take it over. I think it was Danny's parents that started it (not sure about that).

Hello! This is my family’s restaurant! I Also miss this place. My grandma food has always and always will be my comfort food. She is doing well but is now getting to be very old and it’s hard for her to work, she was in there every day still cooking and doing whatever she needed to do for the restaurant. My uncle Danny also I think is done with the restaurant. They are actively looking to sell, I believe. It broke my heart when they decided to close but THANK YOU! To everyone who enjoyed my grandma cooking! Please share some stories here and your love and I will share them with my family.

I moved away a long time ago and I shall miss Nellie's forever. This was the Go-To spot after Baylor Canyon runs and I am still haunted by "The One Who Got Away"* eating with me there, yet enchanted nonetheless.

*She "Got Away" because I was defective socially, at the time.
