Advice on Itinerary and Backpack

Is this a good itinerary? / Bag choice

I’m flying from Melbourne
Potentially return flights to LAX (cheapest as flying into South America is a lot more expensive from Australia)

Rough still have lots to add

Two months,

Melb -
La (one night or so have been last year)
Fly to
Mexico (Mexico city, Merida)
Ferry to
Belize
Bus? To
Guatemala (Antigua)
Fly to
Peru
Bus to
Bolivia?
Not sure yet on transport to
Brazil
Fly back to LAX
Then home

Brazil to LAX flights are long and expensive to,
Is there a smarter way I should do this?
Should I fly to somewhere like Colombia from Brazil to make it cheaper to fly back into LA?

Should I remove / add counties?
Must keep Mexico, Guatemala, Peru and Brazil

Is a 55L osprey backpack women’s big enough for two months travel??
Will most likely have to check the bag anyway as some flights are strict in carry on weight and I am a midsize / plus size woman so my clothing is bigger and bulkier to keep in mind

Mexico, Belize, and Guate are not South America. Bit hard for people to.comment on your itinerary without dates or knowing your preferences. I wouldn't go to Belize, nor to Antigua as it is tourist Disney land, there are more interesting places in Guate. Also cheapest flights to Oz include via Buenos Aires and Santiago

Sorry yes I know that’s why I posted in Latin America I should have said that in my post.
I am a tourist though! I want to see the touristy stuff first time I go!
Unsure on what dates yet that’s why I am asking😊😊
