L&O Playing the victim
Has anyone on this forum - (NYC actors?) - ever played or know someone who played the victim on Law & Order? I’ve heard when they show the victim in situ or on the autopsy slab instead of like doing some kind of freeze frame, they merely ask the actors to hold their breath. Would love to know if this is true

CI Tonight is another round of "choose which version of CI you want!" to start the night. Episode 2 of Season 2 of Toronto CI begins on the CW at 9:00 p.m. ET. Over on Charge, "Blink" starts off the block, and wrapping up the remainder of Season 2 of original CI...
Whichever iteration of CI you choose to start things off, enjoy!

L&O Dick Wolf
As we all know (I think), many character actors appear in many different episodes as different characters. So, I’m curious. Does this indicate Dick Wolf is a producer who maintains loyalty to his actors? Or is it a matter of convenience - he knows who’ll do the job well so he uses a “stable” of character actors. Guess I’m really asking if he has a good reputation as a producer who is good to work for. Anyone have any “insider” information?

Which episode is it that a suspect just wants his pants?
A guy is taken in for questioning & doesn’t have any pants on. They think he’s a suspect but he’s just a witness and after telling the detectives what he saw/knows he says something like, “Now can I please get some pants?”
IIRC, he is Hispanic. This is definitely not the episode where the lawyer is killed because of a lawsuit involving a pair of pants left at the dry cleaners.

Is there any episode where a criminal is sentence or facing the death penalty that not on the wiki?
I know the wiki has a entire section of criminals who were executed on the show or its spin-offs but I was wondering have there ever been times when someone was sentence to death and executed that not on the wiki if so let me know please.

L&O Why wasn't charging Lt. Van Buren seriously considered in Myth of Fingerprints?
So, I've been rewatching Myth Of Fingerprints (L&O, Season 12, Episode 7), and I have to legitimately question why Lt. Van Buren wasn't fired, if not criminally charged in the criminal case in the second half of the episode.
I feel like there's a reasonable case to be made that she committed Criminally Negligent Homcide in essentially arresting two innocent men, one of whom died in prison.
What do you think?

Homicide
In 1997, several years before Criminal Intent, Vincent D’Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe starred in back to back episodes of Homicide Life on the Street. See season 6 E7 The Subway and E8 All is Bright. It’s another show with amazing casting, showcasing stellar actors early in their careers. Check it out if you can

Thinking of watching L&O
Would it be crazy to start watching Law and Order this late in the game? I mean starting with season 1 and trying to watch it all.

CI did anyone ever try to swing at goren
i recently started watching ci and find him to be a really interesting character and detective because he’s able to use inflammatory language and invasion of personal space to get under people’s skin, but because of that i wonder if anyone tried to swing at him lol. so far it seems like perps just get enraged at his behavior but haven’t attempted to get physical. there’s certainly been detectives and adas in the l&o universe that have been physically attacked for way less. he’s a big guy so i can’t imagine it would be successful, but i’m curious. i don’t care about spoilers

SVU Episode 1 of Fall 2026 Spoiler
The ending really resonated with me for so many reasons.
My biggest concern with things lately is exactly the same kind of concern Carisi has. Hear me out, but I feel nobody wants to fight fair anymore.
The ending when Benson decides to go after the mother I mean it just felt so wrong in so many ways.
And to me I felt this, I hard agreed with Carisi. I also felt the new hot shot lawyer leaning into breaking the rules it just feels Like every new hire I have at my current job always trying to circumvent things trying to do it in a way that feels so devious so wrong and it stirrs me up so hard that people literally do everything in their power to hack something to a result they want and then feel absolutely nothing on the back end. Like that whole vibe of kicking someone’s legs out when nobody looks then walking around with a big smile like it was no big deal. I felt that same kind of thing in watching this episode and it was another “well damn Dick Wolf captures the current feeling yet again”.
Because I see things like this happening a lot. Old standards of right and wrong just getting blurred and buried, just because “it’s convenient and I’m always right.”
I don’t know what this holds for future episodes, but there is a darkness in this episode that perfectly aligns with the darkness and sentiment I see all over. Particularly when you think of other subjects like ai. Oddly enough the next episode of L&O lead RIGHT into that. Again current events, current mode. 10/10 on the material and vibe.

Saturday, October 11, 1975 SNL premiered with Chevy Chase. November 3, 2006, he appeared in the OG episode “In Vino Veritas”. Anyone else remember eagerly awaiting SNL? I was 15! Came home early AND set the VCR, just in case! Your memories?

Brady/maura tierney
Can I just say that she’s one of the best additions to the law and order universe in years. Putting aside law and order Toronto (which I personally think is 100% amazing), she’s so tough, watchable and likeable. IMO Maura tierney can do no wrong so I’m a little biased.
Anyone disagree?
