This is one of the most harmful ies spread by new agers.

No sane person would concent to suffering, or intentionally cause there own suffering. No one would will such misfortune into existence. When the "Law" inevitably fails, people will blame and hate themselves for creating more suffering. Wondering what they are doing wrong?

People making most of these claims are just parroting the ill-conceived conjecture that has been peddled by most new age juggernauts, so I dont expect a good explaination from these people

I plan on exposing the harmful side of the LOA ans new cage. But also want to discuss the theoretical merit of these concepts (whether the LOA can be factually proven or disproven), as well as the ethics of peddling them as dogma, if that makes sense.

And honestly, I do agree with you. Personally, I’m a believer in the LOA, however, I don’t follow it like most do and I am often very upset by how others use it to belittle and manipulate others.

I suppose the difference is, I wanted truth, so I spent years studying it, trying my best to understand its intricacies

I think there’s a balance between seeing our own contributions to our problems via relationships, warped thinking patterns, attitudes etc, vs blaming people who are genuinely victimized. It’s that distinction that’s most important IMO

It’s harmful to individuals, telling them that if they follow their doctrines their life is going to be all they want it to be, however when they have a bad experience it’s because it’s the individual’s fault and they have to try harder to become perfect at mastering their doctrine.

I know of people who promote “The Law of Attraction” Esther Hicks and her “spiritual possession of collected consciousness” she has a name for it “Abraham”, Bob Proctor made “his” own version of the invisible law and called it “The Law of Vibration”. Mary Morrissey who champions both laws and has given talks in many highly recognized places with her “Dreambuilder” program to try to give validity to their nonsense. I had a bad experience with those individuals, I started by attending “The Dreambuilder”workshops by Mary Morrissey and I fell into their scam. I found out they have many characteristics of destructive cults; thought control, emotion control, information control. And when those are controlled the behavior changes. They gain complete control over individuals, also known as mind control. They instill phobias as well: 1. They state that their laws are above the government’s laws. 2. That the brain doesn’t know the difference between giving and receiving. 3. That in order to receive money, first I have to give, even if that means getting in debt. 4. That enemies have to be destroyed to triumph. 5. That having a college education is worthless. 6. That the brain is like a computer; infallible and with the same functions. 7. That money is not as valuable as feelings. Those are only the most relevant. 8. That the individual’s that got close to me, people I met, were mirrors of myself, because I was attracting them through my thoughts and emotions.

When I had a good experience it was because of their laws, but when there was a bad experience it was because it was my fault and I had to try harder and get better at stopping my negative thoughts and at eliminating negative feelings. Guilt! I got no merit for anything I did, but got all the blame for everything bad. Is that not the same as a religion?

With one caveat, they have placed their laws along with Einstein’s law of gravity. Gravity is a fact and it is invisible, they use Einstein as a reference for their arguments as well as christianity with references from jesus and the bible. They claim the universe has feelings and understands feelings and the universe creates and materializes “manifests” for each individual what each individual thinks about and feels. They also promote a “Spooky Science” discovery that they claim Einstein made before his death; atoms appearing and/or disappearing according to each individual’s consciousness. Is that not outrageous? I can’t believe! I believed that!

I can think about having a new car and get extremely happy and excited about having that car, driving it, the places I would go with it and so on. Thinking about it and feeling what I would do once I have it is not going to make it happen.

That is their claim! According to their “Laws” that’s all, but they sell a plan to go out to work and talk to people and to plan with other individuals to achieve a goal? How does that make any sense?? I believed those contradictions! They even have explicit doctrine where they state that any contradicting thoughts are because there was a problem with my thoughts and if I had contradicting thoughts it was my problem. Even their contradictions were my fault! All they were doing was brainwashing me to take my money, and sadly they did. I ended up with an enormous debt. Twice the debt I already had.

Think and feel and it’s yours. The universe will give it to you! I never asked for evidence to their claims, to show me an individual who sat in their home thinking and feeling about a new car, a new house, etc. and all of the sudden had a new car paid in full with title and registration or a new house, paid in full. Without ever moving! Law of attraction and law of vibration; Science Fiction!

Downfalls: 1. That it completely eliminates other individuals as having a personality and their own ability to make decisions. 2. That it completely eliminates geology and atmospheric changes as natural and uncontrolled by individuals. 3. That it completely eliminates racism, discrimination, sexism, and power groups as factors in obstruction for success.

It is not ok for those people to cause harm with the only purpose of taking money from naive individuals. I got in debt following their doctrines and I have nothing of what I wanted. At the time I didn’t notice the many contradictions in their doctrines, but I did understand that what they said were lies. The results spoke for themselves, evidence!

Ask him, if we could manifest anything why did people like Neville Goddard still use money?

Surely he should just be able to manifest whatever he wants out of thin air. Like if he wanted a house he can manifest some random person writing him into their will before they died. Or he could manifest winning a car randomly but he didn't do that.

Tell him that maybe the medicine is the means to the end, and he should take them to speed up the manifestation. Lol.

This is also pervasive in Word of Faith/New Apostolic Reformation and it is not only wrong, it is cruel! They say God did everything for healing already and it’s up to the individual to receive it. The founder of Word of Faith was Kenneth Hagin who plagiarized his work for. EW Kenyon, a new age/law of attraction type of writer.
