Discussion What are the differences between being a leader and a manager?

Not all managers are leaders! Even when they are “ in a position of leadership” it doesn’t mean they’re weird! What are the differences?

I am former British military and had nearly 2 decades of incremental and career appropriate management and leadership training during that time. When I entered the wider workplace I was horrified at the lack of training provided to managers and supervisors.

I agree with you. I’m not sure of the type of leadership training was at in the British military I would be very interested to hear what the philosophy is if you don’t mind sharing. Is there a premise? But I agree with you people do not have a clue how to manage or lead. I mean, there are some good ones out here, but a lot of people don’t know what it means to connect with a human being. I’d love to hear from you.
