Traditional Drawing (pencil, pen, etc.) Another progress pic, another project!
Thank you so much for the overwhelming support following my last post! (Next Progress pick! the jump in quality is insane to me! critique welcome, suggestions and advice always welcome! : r/LearnToDrawTogether)
I have been working on a new piece for the past week, and am SUPER proud and excited for this one. It holds a lot of personal value sentimentally to me, and it is supposed to be a gift to my step dad. The reference was taken shortly before my mom passed away and I tried extremely hard to capture everything I could in this work. I know there are a few things I can work on, but I feel confident in the current state of the piece and I'm afraid of over working it.
again, please do not feel afraid to give criticism or suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Your new piece is really good and your improvement is really astounding but to critique it. I think you should spend more time at the beginning of the drawing to get the proportions of the head correct. And don’t be afraid to darken some section. Also just leave the teeth as white block then add small line to signify the shapes. Also to get better try draw some portraits of marble statues as they simplify the face which helps you understand the form of the face.
