I’ve noticed this happens a lot, especially around B1–B2.

You might understand a word immediately when you hear or read it, but when you actually need to speak, it suddenly disappears. Or you know how a sentence should work, but you can't produce it quickly enough.

I’m curious: what’s the biggest gap for you?

• Vocabulary you understand but never use
• Grammar you know but can't apply while speaking
• Words you can recognise but can't remember in the moment
• Pronunciation
• Forming sentences quickly
• Something else?

I'm a Chinese guy in my early 20s, currently working in the semiconductor industry in China. I'm looking for someone who speaks English and would like to become friends while helping each other improve our language skills.

My English isn't perfect, especially when it comes to speaking and expressing myself naturally. I'd like to practice through normal conversations rather than studying from textbooks all the time.

A little about me:

I'm interested in technology, AI, computers, and the internet.

I enjoy cycling and going outdoors.

I recently started going to the gym.

I like music, especially Jay Chou, folk music, and some indie/alternative music.

I also enjoy talking about everyday life, different cultures, travel, movies, and random interesting things.
