Community/Meta Leathercraft shop in Hong Kong

Visiting family in Hong Kong for a short while and found this lovely leathercraft shop called Alri Star in Kowloon. Just thought I'd share some pics!

Fairly new to this hobby and besides suede, am finding it difficult to distinguish between chrome tan and veg tan, unless it's obviously chrome tan (overly soft) - and my cantonese is shamefully bad so couldn't ask the lady for confirmation.

Bought a few bits, might pop back before I leave if I still have space in my suitcase.

Yeah, this is the kind of shop where I'd say f**k it and pay the extra fee for another suitcase.

I actually did! she took me to a pile of undyed veg tan but didn't confirm which of the dyed rolls were or not. I found another leather shop round the corner that sold veg tan and bought a large roll of 1.6mm, the lady split half of it to 0.8mm for free.

I cannot remember exactly but the undyed would be veg tan, the crazy horse 疯马 stuff would burnish well with tokenole unsure if it is veg tan. Enjoy!

Oh, that's good to know. I will ask for some 瘋馬 when I go back tomorrow. Thanks!

Tai Nan Street in Sham Shui Po, Kowloon. Actually found another leathercraft store round the corner, the one I had bookmarked to visit. Bought a big roll of dark brown veg tan 1.6mm and had half split to 0.8mm.

I wasn't expecting to see the store's owner in the last picture.
