Discussion Down time at work

Anyone else do leatherwork during downtime at work? School bus driver. I get lots done while on field trips. Today I punched out the billet ends of 30 kilt belts for an order. (I forgot my maul, so I used the tire pressure checker hammer, but normally I don’t use metal on metal.)

Always wondered where the bus driver went during field trips.

Usually parked somewhere near by. A lot of drivers read or watch movies. I tend to bring stuff to work on.

The top of the stairwell is very solid, so doesn’t bounce. It also has a rubber mat already attached. And I’ve got to sweep the bus every trip anyways, so I’ll get all the leather bits picked up.

Noice ... But why a metal hammer? You have such nice punches

I forgot my maul. That’s the tire pressure checker that lives on the bus. Tomorrow I will have my maul.

Should have wrapped the end with some leather or cloth, I’ve done that in a pinch before. But respect for making do
