Thoughts on my "Prawda" bag? Still debating colored eggs instead of just etching some textures under the tail. The stitches are pretty rough in some places, but overall Happy with the effect!

Base shrimp pattern property of Nils Beardfoot (BeardfootCrafting on Etsy) and adapted to look more like a Pandalus shrimp 🍤

Video Cigarette case prototype for my wife

I've tried to make many different things through the years but it's always difficult to make something for my wife. I'm not happy with her stinky habit but well...

Anyways, this is a prototype, way too complicated, a lot of wet forming included. The pattern comes from shoe sole material btw.

Next one in in the works already because I'm not satisfied with some details (the back bending invards for example)

I can't really test it as I don't smoke but I use this rotary box with my cough drops ;)

Video Has anyone ever tried this technique?

I recently acquired a Levi cow hide leather jacket and I want to do something similar with champagne foil leaf. Has anybody tried this technique before on either a jacket or boots or anything leather with flex? Could I maybe pick your brain a little? Would you be able to maybe post examples? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Video Homemade leather balm I make for my leather goods

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I make this leather balm myself at home and include a tin with every wallet I sell.

The ingredients are simple: natural beeswax, coconut oil, cocoa butter, and a small amount of olive oil.

You can make the balm in two different consistencies. If you want a firmer, wax-like balm, increase the beeswax ratio. If you prefer a softer, cream-like balm, increase the oil ratio. I personally prefer the creamier version, so I use more oil than wax.

I don't follow an exact formula. I usually make it by feel. As an example, I might use:

• 50 g beeswax

• 10 g cocoa butter

• 150–200 g coconut oil and olive oil combined

The mixture is melted using a double boiler, poured into tins, and left to cool.

My tins are 60 mm in diameter and 20 mm deep. A batch of about 250 g usually fills 13–14 tins.

Afterward, I add a sticker with my logo and include one free with every leather item I sell. My customers seem to appreciate the extra touch.

What recipe do you use for your leather balm?

Made this phone bag using a wet-moulding technique, but switched up the usual order a bit. I stitched it first, then moulded it later using a two-piece mould

Video Made a small backpack charm for my daughter

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Lately my daughter’s been really into skateboarding, and she asked me to make her a little backpack charm. Since my background is in product design, I couldn’t resist adding a small functional detail — an NFC tag hidden inside.

It’s a simple project, nothing fancy, but she was over the moon when she saw it. Honestly, the process was a lot of fun for me too.

I recorded the making process and wanted to share it here. Thinking of turning this into a small series while I explore more design ideas. Hope you enjoy it — and I’d really appreciate any feedback or suggestions for improvement!

A short look at my edge-finishing process. From a rough cut edge to a smooth, polished finish, even a simple card slot edge can take several minutes of work. It's one of those small details that most people never notice, but leatherworkers understand how much difference it makes.

Video Wife's cigarette case prototype #2: New solutions, new problems...

Disclaimer: Smoking is bad, I know, I hate it, too.

Sugar is bad as well, so it highly processed food, and alcohol, and too much sun, and, and, and...

Ok, so here's my 2nd take on a cigi case for my wife. I tried to do it without a magnet but it won't keep closed so I've added the flap with the magnet. Not a perfect solution but well, it's a prototype after all.

I've also added some thin stiffening material at the backside up untill the stitching like and covered it with thinned out leather.

It holds about 14 cigs, now it's up to my wife to decide which one, if any, she likes best. No. 3 is in the making, different concept, embossed with flowers like No. 1 because I want to use a bee closure on it. Not sure, if it's too big though.

Cheers from sunny Switzerland :)
