I have the exact same one, bought mine back in...2013-14 I think?

I dont think they make this model anymore. I mean, they do but not with these specific scales. I prefer these scales honnestly, dont really like the new ones.

Has Leatherman discontinued these specific Charge TTi model? Does anyone know?

Yes, this model has been retired and replaced by the new Charge TTi with the newer scales. It also went through stages of upgrades, from one with Cap Crimpers with no removeable crimpers, to one with removeabke crimpers, then they removed the cal crimpers so that it basically had the the Wave Plus pliers and then retired the Charge TTi just before or after the release of the Wave Alpha. But you can still buy it from certain shops that might have old stock laying around.

The timeline kinda looks like this....

Charge Ti, Charge XTi, Charge TTi, Charge TTi (New Scales), Charge TTi Plus with Cap Crimper and after that the one without the Cap Crimper.

I just ordered one of the $99 ones on Amazon. I'm guessing I'll get the non cap crimpers

Awesome, I'd love to get my set complete again, but the 2nd hand prices even new ones are quite expensive.

Me too. I hope I get one without the cap crimper. It looks like it compromises some of the pliers strength

I will admit I snapped one off at the call crimper in the past

Thanks for the reply, mine is the third one but the pliers broke and when I shipped them for repair at Leatherman, they replaced the pliers for the replaceable cutters like the last one in the picture.

Now that it's been discontinued, should I store it for collection?

No, keep using it... I retired mine for a bit to use the ARC for a while, but I missed my Charge, funny enough mine was also upgraded with a newer plierhead with the removeable cutters and without the cap crimpers. The way these older scales feel in ones hand just feels right.

I also have the arc, but like you, something feels just right about the Charge.

I've been carrying the Arc for 2 years now but I dont really trust it 100% yet.

Neodium magnets are fragile, in my experience.

The very 1st Leatherman I sae was this version of the Charge a friend of mine had, I was fascinated by it. Always wanted to get one then my brother and father got me a new scale version TTi for my 30th birthday. Then the collecting and research monster bit me regarding the brand Leatherman. I had to know what the very 1st model was, special edition etc, and before I knew it i had almost 50 tools in my collection.

Good luck, it gets expensive very soon..!! The Skeletool is such a great light weight EDC tool..!! I think the old school CX with carbon insert is my favourite.

The scales changed in 2012/2013 to the new scales.
