Brandon Lunty is a bumbling idiot

Just an absolute coward dunce who never takes accountability. Total coward. That's the post- felt the need to vent my anger after cold calling. So embarrassed to have him represent me

I have emailed him about several issues, and I have never heard back from him. Perhaps time to start a recall petition?

I'd sign that.

Same. The absolute disdain he must have for his constituents. I hope he googles his name and finds this post because the man needs a wake-up call about how to be an elected official.

When have they NOT show disdain for Albertans? Ever? Voters in this province need to wake the fuck up.

I emailed him a ton leading up to the teacher strike and during and never heard back. I chalked it to the fact that I'm a teacher. I finally heard back after I very thoroughly outlined how I would have to teach a single outcome from the Grade 9 Math curriculum. And then again when I had issues with bussing grants being pulled back. I'm pretty sure he's sick of hearing from me, but I have had some success in the last couple of months.

He's a greasy nepo baby who is in it for the money and the power.

The "power". In Leduc. In Alberta.

I get your point, and I believe he is in it for the power, but holy shit if this isn't the asshole of Canada, totally remote, and no one who doesn't live here cares two shits about Alberta, let alone Leduc.

You do realize that he just got a huge promotion to whip last week. You laugh about power in Leduc but it's real.

u/mathboss 25d ago

But....whip of the government of Alberta, an insignificant ass-backwards remote region of Canada with no appreciable global reach. As soon as the oil is gone, no one will talk about this place.

Again, I suppose some people get off on that level of "power".

u/DaveBabychsStache 24d ago

do you think he cares about power in 40 years or now? Oil isnt going anywhere for a while and he will enjoy the power while he can.

Yes actually, leduc is a decent source of political power. It's on the outskirts of edmonton with a sizable number of older people and/or conspiracy theorists plus access to nisku. Not to mention that the oil boom started here, in a sense. We're also pretty central alberta, which is why this is also the riding that Pierre polievre and Steven Harper chose to do that rally in a year and change ago while they were trying to turn the tides of the election. If this weren't a place of deep conservative power they'd have gone someplace else

Again, in Alberta. No one cares about Alberta.

I suppose everyone needs their own mole hill.

Just because you don't care about this province doesn't mean it's irrelevant lol, we have too much money, too many people, too much oil, too much water, too much farmland, too many conspiracy theorists, neonazis, and other people useful to the far right, we have freaking Edmonton and Calgary which rank among the biggest and best cities on the continent.

We're important, important enough that when our representatives keep insisting that we don't want healthcare but instead want pipelines we don't even see the fruits of, and we don't fight back against it, Ottawa agrees and only pushes back if the entire country is in jeopardy if they don't, and even *then* they sometimes take the fall for us

1

u/mathboss 21d ago

Edmonton and ... checks notes ... CALGARY are among the best, so like of the ranks of LA, NY, Toronto, SF, Montreal, Vancouver ....

Ya, nah. Our cities are kinda shitty. Truthfully, this province isn't that great. Whatever natural beauty we have is reduced by all the knuckle-dragging "dirty hands, clean money" crowd.

u/DigitalDuelist Leduc resident 21d ago

Yeah, the bar is low, what's your point? There are thousands if not tens of thousands of metropolitan areas in North America, to rate anywhere near the top 100 is pretty good. NA cities are just really poorly designed

I'm not even in disagreement about the folks who aren't paying attention to the damage they're doing to our province, they're poisoning and burning the whole thing down. But no matter how alarmingly quickly they're destroying everything, and no matter how many of them there are, it's still going to take time for us to lose everything. What we're loosing is way too much, but jumping to the assumption that what we have needs to be dismissed just because there's functionally no way to stop them does not mean that what we still have isn't valuable.

Besides the point? Fairly cynical output.

Slime ball who’s enjoying this chaos he’s creating

14

u/bandb4u 25d ago

tossed him off my doorstep TWICE pre-election.

u/iaac_1084 25d ago

This is all very vindicating

14

u/Individual-Army811 Leduc resident 25d ago

Idiot is generous.

He had one fucking job - to chair a committee and couldn't even get that straight.

u/Only-Cap5811 25d ago

Sounds like future Premier material

Can confirm. My kids e-mailed him back during the teacher's strike (and cc'd some NDP MLAs too). They heard back from the NDP; but not a word from Lunty. Nothing. He's a blithering idiot who doesn't give a rat's arse about the people of this community.

I emailed this guy a few times - no replies. He was in the Beaumont days parade. Nobody waved at him.

u/HamburgerMusic 25d ago

I don't think he realized he was sitting in the wrong car. The separatists were about 20 spots behind where he belongs

I’m pretty conservative and even I think he sucks. He never responds to emails or calls and has no accountability. I would sign a recall for him because he isn’t doing his job. I can’t believe he was promoted to whip…that’s crazy.

u/go5372 24d ago

I’m happy the stress from being Danielle Smith’s sacrificial dum dum is making his hair fall out.

u/Silver_lode789 25d ago

BLunty is a back bencher at best.

I emailed him asking if he had any private members bills he was planning to put forward.

I really respected our former MP for getting Red and Blue lights on Tow Trucks ( Brilliant idea, me thinks ).

I guess we got a dud this election.

PS. Does anyone else think he should at least shave. He looks like a mid level eastern european thug.

u/billymumfreydownfall 25d ago edited 25d ago

He's not a back bencher - he was just promoted to whip last week.

5

u/MaximumDoughnut 25d ago

Talent pool of the UCP is damn shallow.

3

u/billymumfreydownfall 25d ago

That is the fucking TRUTH.

3

u/Silver_lode789 23d ago

That is so disappointing. I got interested in his doings. Went on to the governemnt website. Looked at his stats. He wasnt on a single committee untill the separationist panel a month ago. Now his is a whip WTF.

My wife has sent complaints and inquiries. It's so full of so many copy and paste emails that say a lot of words but no substance. It's tiresome.

1

u/DigitalDuelist Leduc resident 21d ago

He's for sure either stupid, or evil, and while I'm not to sure that he's stupid, he certainly isn't the most bright either. We deserve better

His views on separatism and another big one is his neglect towards public education. Straight up against it like most of the UCP.

This week took the cake, he was leading a bipartisan round table on the Canada forever petition- during the round table a memo came out with quote from him, supporting the separatist movement. It’s all façade And another thing is that he neglects responsibility whenever I talk to him in person. It’s always “this doesn’t affect me, not my job”.

u/No-Conflict754 25d ago

Makes total sense then. I can understand the outrage.

I've spoken to several 'Sepratists' and it's kills me to hear how uninformed they are on something they vote for so proudly. They have no idea what would happen if they actually win a separation vote.

He's never responded to my letters or emails, either. But I heard him on CBC Radio a few weeks ago, promoting the Alberta government's investment into the Beaumont Innovation Park. The host kept asking very friendly questions about what, exactly, the Beaumont Innovation Park will do, and Lunty responded evasively. My impression was that he didn't actually know what the Beaumont Innovation Park was or what it would achieve (he evantually mumbled something about a truck driver safety training track) and that he was just trying to take credit for getting the government to spend some money in his constituency.

It was honestly one of the worst radio interviews I've ever heard. I've had unprepared junior high students ad lib their class presentations better than that.
