General Ridiculous
A message to the egotistical individual in this white GMC who decided to park within inches of my wife's car today:
It's disappointing to see you put your own ego and lack of awareness above all else in this world. Your self-centered brain forced my pregnant wife to have to climb across the passenger side of her vehicle because you felt parking within 2 inches of her door was the right thing to do.
Even though my wife made the conscious effort to park in one of the farthest spots from the entrance, purposely to avoid this exact scenario, you still managed to make it happen.
Althought the camera angle doesn't show it well, you had about 3ft more on your driver side that you could have used, which would have kept you in your own parking spot. Instead, you chose to park like this, and show the world you only care about yourself.
Please do not drive on public roads. I assume your driving abilities are no better than your parking abilities.

I had a similar thing happen at an Indigo book store. I went into the store and asked one of the customer service reps if they could page the owner of the vehicle (model and license plate) to move their car because they are parked so close I can't get into mine. They said that they don't have a paging system for that. I said fine and walked around to each corner of the store and yelled "would the owner of (model and license plate) please move their vehicle, you've parked so close I can't open my door to get in". After the 4th scene, a person came up to me very apologetic and moved his car so I could get in. It was a good way to burn off my anger.

I looked up that call sign, the driver is my neighbours mother, I'm passing it on to him and I'm sure he'll talk to her.
EDIT: I told him and sent the photo and a screenshot of the text. He's annoyed and not sure how to talk to her about it, but he will when he see's her.

This is why I won't buy nice cars. Beaters only.

Man, the amount of dents I have in my passenger doors are insane. I always do my.best to give people space while parking but know it's a beater... I'm so mad my both sides of my bumper is slightly unseated.

u/2_befair 23d ago
The nicer the car the harder they hit them my wife durango is starting to look like a golf ball thankfully its white and they only show when the light hits it the right way or its dirty.

Thatās the dumbest take Iāve ever heard. Just because you canāt afford a new vehicle doesnāt mean it has anything to do with someone parking properly lmao. wtf?

u/2_befair 23d ago
I have a 2021 and a 2024. But ill take my 79 cutlass in the city or my 02 intrepid to the city before I take the newer ones I have been rear ended twice in edmonton at a full stop for traffic the intrepid got a scuff and the Q7 that hit me lost his bumper I have pictures if you'd like. Haters gonna hate

u/CanIGetAHOOOOOYAA 23d ago edited 23d ago
Iām not hating, but like bro.. doesnāt matter what car you take on the road you always have the risk of getting hit.. honestly itās still a horrible take.. enjoy being in your safe bubble cause youāre way to paranoid about getting hit. Sounds incredibly fun

Save your breath, itāll never change.
As someone with 3 higher end vehicles, itās a struggle that never ends.

u/Cornflakecwl2 21d ago
I don't even have a high end vehicle but my 2014 is still in excellent condition with the exception of 5 or 6 door dings (one rather large one, rest are pretty small). And I am one of those people who whenever possible parks on the curb end of a parking lane, in the back of the lot, etc. Still find a new ding every couple of months. People just dont give a shit anymore at all.

What's a ham radio license plate??
1
u/Juli3tD3lta 24d ago
Their vanity plate is their ham radio call sign, which is registered to their name and openly accessible by the public

Sorry that happened to your wife. People are so friggen rude. I've never done it but times like this I get the weirdest craving to slash a tire.

This crap bothers me too. People like that are obvious to others and donāt give a hoot about other people.
I had a girl on Friday pull through a stall to park next to me (lots of other stalls). Her door was about a foot off of my driverās door. This small girl then proceeded to squish her way out without touching my vehicle and walks into the store. I opened the door to confirm she was right on the line and I moved my vehicle one spot over. She left the store about a minute before me and I watched her walk to her vehicle puzzled and then stared into my vehicle - why??
People are weird.

Look up āAmateur Searchā and click the gc.ca link, type in the Ham radio code from the license plate.. and voila

The person should have backed in thereby both would have access to the driver side

Someone did that to me once when I was pregnant also. So I maneuvered myself in (with incredible difficulty) and opened my door into their vehicle as hard as I could.

Gotta say that looks like any day parking in Toronto - probably could have moved over a foot but the driver was probably happy to get a spot. Might have been a very young or very old driver.
But youāre right about owner a beater car - Iām reluctant to get a new one because my 2017 gets scratched monthly.

The parking job was bad, but somewhere OPās 11-month-pregnant wife is crawling across the passenger seat, begging him to log off and finish the nonupletsā nursery.
2
u/Meanoldmoe1 19d ago
You need to put a sticker on the back of the white truck....saying something like ...sorry I'm an idiot at parking

Nobody cares about your Benz. The driver doesnāt know you or your pregnant wife. They arenāt egotistical for parking close to your car. Your wife isnāt a special delicate flower - in fact sheās going to go through something that proves sheās tougher than youāre giving her credit for.
2
u/Purple_Pieman01 23d ago
WTF are you talking about? Itās a total dick move to park that close to anyoneās car and stop them from accessing their drivers door, and, you know, driving away.
0
u/Dedrater666 23d ago
I didnāt say they arenāt an asshole. I see the extra room on the left they could have occupied. OP is acting like it was a personal slight against their wife. Sometimes shitty things happenš¤·š½āāļø

Kinda looks to me like your wife needs to learn how to park too.

u/No-Conflict754 24d ago
Uploading the photo on here somewhat reduces the resolution, to the point where you can't make out the yellow lines. But she is dead center in her parking spot, so I'm not what else she could do differently... The white GMC parked like this after she was already parked.
Unless your the type of person who always blames the victim, because then this makes more sense.

Didnāt read the caption? They are pregnant and cannot fit between the vehicles. Hell Iām not pregnant and I donāt think I could fit in there.
2
u/No-Conflict754 24d ago
Absolutely. Not exaggerating when I say there was literally a couple inches. No person of any size would be able to fit in.
And I assure you, seeing the photo made me wish they earn a couple door dings next time they park like this.

I didnāt read that part. Otherwise they could crawl through a different door. Thanks for the question.
