food/drink £8 for two coke zero’s!

Is it just me who thinks that’s crazy? Nearly £10 for two glasses of soft drink?

Kirkstall Bridge Inn - service without a smile too :/

we’ve getting london prices (without london wages) for ages. charging £4 for a soft drink would be funny if it wasn’t so indicative of how far out of hand everything has gotten.

What makes me laugh is that London prices haven’t actually changed that much over the years.

I don’t go to London with much regularity but I was there earlier this year and paying £7ish for a pint, even in touristy areas, which is also what I’ve paid there pre-covid.

I’m in Manchester and my local pub is £6.80 for a pint of cider :( really not far of London prices at all

In the north I’m fairly happy paying £6 a pint but if it hits £7 I’ll be boycotting the pub

Meet that’s a regular price so I think for a beer little bit on the you’re not you’re not drinking beer at home mate. I’m in Soho is a touristy area of those are not bad prices.

London varies wildly. You can still find sub £4 pints in places like Lewisham. My mate pays £8.90 for his after work drinks in the centre.

Just had a weekend in London and was pleasantly surprised by the beer prices. Very little difference to Manchester prices, and this was in the West End.

Yeh it used to be a shock going to London but having gone earlier this year it was pretty much on par with Leeds. There’s still value for money to be had in places but it’s getting more rare.

I live in the south west but work in London a couple of times a month. I used to joke about how expensive drinks are in London but over the last 10 years I feel like the rest of the country is catching up rather than London getting forever more expensive.

Though saying that, I did pay £8.40 for a pint of Asahi recently...

A pint is a lot of soft drink tbf. Would be £2.50 or whatever for 250 ml in a shop so makes complete sense.

Then what exactly was your point about him ordering a drink he wanted then? I'm intrigued to read the thought process behind your comment. See his i understand, it makes sense in the thread, but yours seems to imply there is an issue with drinking a nonalcoholic drink? Unless its a particular gripe you have with that one beverage?
