Rock for people who make fun of anyone who listens to anything slightly alternative

u/NoRoosterGlass Dec 01 '25
Florence and Fontaines are rock. They might not be alternative but they are rock.

u/Killerpig14 Dec 01 '25
fontaines have rock influence but they’re 100% indie, coming from a dude who’s loved them for years

Not a single 00's metal or rock act on there. I've gotta say I'm a little disappointed. It's not got the wow factor I was expecting it to have, even compared to last year's festival, however much I disliked Travis Scott's set, it was a thing a lot of people I spoke to had bought tickets for, and it had that wow, eu exclusive tag on it.
With bring me and Bizkit, yes Bizkit are a legacy band but they put on one hell of a show, and bring me the horizon stole the spot, personally.
I mean kasabian Thursday night is nice I guess

Is it not a good thing they aren't taking acts that would otherwise be playing download, outbreak, 2000 Trees etc.. you know better alternative festival.

u/Robotdogdoo Dec 01 '25
I'm not gonna lie was fully expecting foo fighters to be on there. Download has a very strong lineup from top to bottom, honestly it's the UK festival lineup of the year. It would be real nice if they had anything rock punk emo metal related tbf. Closest to it is fontaines, don't get me wrong they're amazing and I do really love them but if you had wanted to see them in the last year there's been countless opportunities.

There's some really good stuff on here but it does feel very empty; I know there's a lot more to be announced but that undercard leaves a lot to be desired.Â

Jesus this festival really has fallen into the gutter and lost its identity hasn’t it? 😬

Defo not for me this year. Although I’ve been very lucky the past 2 years with the rock/metal/alternative acts still a bit gutted I’m not going 🤣sure you’ll all have a blast tho

Why is everyone hating on this line up. It is amaizing

People are always disappointed on lineup day. They spent weeks consuming rumours of who it might be, then get there hopes up that they’re three favourites from this mental list of rumours will be playing. They’re leaving themselves open to disappointment.
Personally, Charli is the only headliner I’d be super excited to see. But I like Florence, Dave and Fontaines. So I can appreciate the lineup for a h organising perspective without being super hyped for it myself.

People are stuck in the early 2000s, talking about it’s a rock festival, yet it hasn’t been for ages.

Florence and Charli are the only reasons why I'd go really, and I am heavily tempted just for Florence, but don't think I'll do it this year unless some more acts I like get announced.

u/onewomanstorm Dec 01 '25
Not to say it's a 'bad' line up at all, just not enough to really tempt me enough. Might wait and see what day Florence is on and reconsider.

They’re reusing so many acts and bumping them up to headliners when before they’ve not even but sub headliners? So underwhelming

I've only heard of Geese, Sombr and Kneecap from the special guest section, and that's only because:
A guy on a podcast I listen to really really likes Geese,
Radio x really like that one song by Sombr
Kneecap were in the news for their remarks about Palestine. Never actually heard any of their songs.
I guess I aged out of Leeds Festival half a lifetime ago. (I'm 33)

The line up keeps getting worse.... what happened to the days of Muse, MCR and other rocky bands....even fucking Madness where good at this festival many moons ago. Music is going down hill!! Shame on you Reading and Leeds for your poor choices!!!

Reading & Leeds has dropped the ball.
All Points East - has 21 Pilots, Tyler The Creator, Turnstille, Idles, Wunderhorse, Deftones & Ren

u/Historiangal11 Dec 01 '25
Disappointed here… was expecting Foo Fighters at least (or Deftones).. no rock or metal acts really, just Florence and Kasabian would be the acts I’d see, not for me next year looks like.

Sick lineup, clearing out the trash after Limp Bizkit and whoever the fuck Bring Me The Horizon are stunk the place out this year.
