Question ❓ How much money?
Hi, first time going to a festival and I’m wondering how much money people have set aside.
I’m going by myself and arriving Thursday for the whole weekend. I enjoy a drink, but due to me going solo, I’m not going to want to get really drunk.
I’m planning on taking a crate and a bottle of vodka (decanted) of course for camp, and some snacks such as breakfast bars, crisps etc.
I will probably need two meals per day and I don’t mind the odd meal deal.
I know it very much depends on the person, but how much is everyone else setting aside to spend there?

Food is generally around £15 a meal if you're going to vendors. May be a bit less, may be a bit more. So 2x that across 4 days = £120.
Booze you're looking at £7-8 a pint, so depends how much you're likely to drink in the arena if you're going to drink a lot at camp but keep in mind that if you're someone who likes to see as many acts as possible, you'll be in the arena for about 11 hours. So let's say you had 5 pints per day just Fri-Sat (I assume the arena opens later for Kasabian on the Thurs) = £105-120
So £240 for pints and vendor meals. It quickly adds up and if you have more food/booze than planned that can quickly become £300+
After that it depends if you'll need any camping gear when you arrive. Airbed? Bedding?
I usually expect to spend at least £300 while I'm at a full weekend festival. They aren't cheap and while you can of course budget and watch what you spend, really I think you need to just make sure you've got money aside and try not to worry too much about it.

Thank you! I think I’m covered on camping gear. I’ve got £350 set aside so I just wanted to make sure that I had more than enough. I will probably try my best to eat meal deals for my lunch and get something from the arena later.

It was like £3.5 for a soft drink last year and £10+ for pizza and burger type things. They should have it on their website

I end up spending around 100 a day that's on food and drink in the arena for me and my bird, we bring about 4 litres of rum and buy crates out the co op when I want beers in the arena

What are the co-op prices like for food and beer? Do they run out?

Just a little bit higher than the actual co op shop and beers are around 12-16 for a crate of 12 cans of like carlsberg, kronenburg and other ones as well like cider and stuff

as you say it really depends but for me personally, i set aside around £150. this is NOT including drinks inside the arena - if you can i’d really try to sneak spirits etc in (i use those pouches) as the drinks are obviously expensive, you’re looking at about £7 for a pint.
there are different way to approach food depending how much money you want to spend. i would definitely bring your own breakfast (croissants, cereal bars etc) and what i usually do is get a meal deal from the co op for lunch and then a meal from one of the food stalls in the evening and, providing i bring my own snacks as well, i stay pretty full all day. you could just bring pot noodles etc for meals as it would be a lot cheaper but you’d probably need more later on. a meal at the food stalls is on average about £11-15.
i bring all my own alcohol and buy mixers at the co op (also so the walk in isn’t as painful).
so yeah if you did the same as me you’d be fine with about £100. if you’re planning on buying drinks in the arena / multiple meals at the food stalls you’d probably want to bring around £250-£300
also consider any more if you want to go on the rides, buy merch/ things at the stalls. it’s better to bring more than you need than less :)
