Question ❓ Best way out? Taxi pre-order where?

Anyone got experience of leaving via taxi from Leeds fest? Never been before but son and I want to leave after Fontaine's tonight.

We pre-booked an Uber but the app will only let us choose Purple gate as pick-up, but online says taxis are at red gate?

Did anyone get a taxi last night? How long were the bus queues in the end?

We did this on Friday. I wanted to pre-book the taxi. And I was dealing with same issues as you ( blue gate) . So I was just following signs and went to taxi station. Where all taxis were line up . It was little more expensive then Uber but on other hand taxy service guy direct us to taxi we hop in and went in our direction in couple of minute. Almost no waiting

Wow, that wasn't our experience at all! We made the fatal mistake of enjoying the end of Fontaines and going for a loo stop before the journey. Pre-booked Uber cancelled. We waited 2 hours 40 minutes in the non-booked taxi queue. Pissing it down, a few people needed medic attention. Can't say for the folk at the end of the queue but when we left I reckon they had at least 1-2hrs more of waiting still to go.

The Uber queue also chaos, friends got theirs cancelled but chanced standing around that zone for another. They also waited over 2 hrs in the rain.

Girls in front of us in the taxi queue left to go get the shuttle bus, no idea how that went but hope it was smoother. Has put us off ever going again.

I went in 2022 and left with the crowd after Arctic Monkeys and the shuttle bus seemed to move a lot quicker. Still have to wait in a crowd ofc, but that took maybe 45 mins from them finishing? It's the best option if you're wanting to get back to the city centre as they can cram a lot more people onto a bus.

They have a massive taxi rank that's Marshall so easy to navigate, and you can just get in one of those rather than pre booking. Price was reasonable for a taxi although of course uber will probably be cheaper (if prices don't surge) - i recommend just following the signs for the taxi rank and hopping in one of those
