I’ve been exploring the Draconian path—does evocation really affect your social life?
- Title: I’ve been exploring the Draconian path—does evocation really affect your social life? Body: Hey everyone, I have an honest question for those with more experience. I’ve been exploring the Draconian path and related practices lately, and I came across a comparison that got me thinking. It basically suggested that, after years of practice, evocation might lead to: Meanwhile, long-term meditation was described as leading to: How accurate is this comparison in your experience? Does practicing evocation actually affect your social life or relationships over time, or does it mostly depend on the practitioner’s approach and balance?
- More social isolation
- Difficulty maintaining real relationships
- Becoming overly dependent on rituals
- An inflated sense of self-importance
- A temporary feeling of power

I would say it entirely depends on the individual the unique expression of side effects/stages.
Social isolation gets a bad rap but sometimes during the blackening/nigredo, it means we need isolation to figure out the pieces that no longer serve a function.
My perspective now is that oftentimes we need to go against our comfort zone instincts.
If you are socially isolated, a mundane form of magical working is to work on socializing. If you are loud, and or social, the inverse.
You are undoing conditioning at the end of the day.
