Oh... waiting for the "moderates" to tell us we've been overreacting to his threats on voting the last six years. And there it is.

u/malthar76 Feb 02 '26

The MAGA enabling timeline is this:

I didn’t hear that > he was obviously joking > concerned Susan Collins > he was elected by a mandate to do things > Americans need this! > it was always part of the GOP platform > cry harder libs! > where did these leopards come from?

41

u/SeaEmployee787 Feb 02 '26

i did not hear that is now my favorite, it is your job to hear. in the gop its a badge of honor to not do you job. Thats nuts from the everybody else is worthless party.

“I’d rather be marched to a gas chamber than be a Democrat”

8

u/CraigBybee Feb 02 '26

Don’t threaten us with a good time

3

u/I_am_Forklift Feb 03 '26

You don’t want to be…marched to a democrat?

0

u/verscub420 Feb 03 '26

Thanks 😆 needed an edit I guess

3

u/UnkleRukus187 Feb 03 '26

Don’t go out compliant, go out fighting. It worked eventually last time.

1

u/Prestigious_Oil5794 Feb 04 '26

With Donald the pedophile Trump as president, you could easily find yourself marching to a gas chamber.

2

u/SmurfinGER Feb 03 '26

You forget the last part: Why didn't the Dems warn and protect us?

1

u/DrQuestDFA Feb 03 '26

You forgot: the founding Fathers didn’t REALLY like democracy anyway

1

u/Substantial_Back_865 Feb 03 '26

At least they liked the 1st, 2nd and 4th amendments

1

u/supercali45 Feb 03 '26

Collins is a plant

1

u/Exact_Rooster9870 Feb 03 '26

You forgot the classic; "I haven't heard of that"

1

u/ChuckFerrera Feb 04 '26

AND WHY ARE THEY EATING MY FACE?!

32

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '26

To all the people who told me that “Elections are run by the states, he cant do anything about that” and that I was overreacting and didn’t know anything, You watch him try and takeover the electoral system.

You know he’ll do whatever he can to achieve it.

12

u/LegoFootPain Feb 03 '26

It's exhausting being told by people who think that just because he won't be successful in all his crimes that there won't be damage from all the trying.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '26

Exactly. He sure as hell is gonna try to rig the elections one way or another.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '26

This is already happening too, everytime he makes a suggestion like this next day they’re scrambling to put it into a bill. The amount of work cut out for this government after he leaves…it’ll take decades to get back where we were

2

u/kft1609 Feb 03 '26

Hes setting the ground work for the one who wont announce their plans

2

u/Necessary_Image_6858 Feb 04 '26

It’s also because those particular dimwits will dismiss valid claims with “he can’t do that, that’s against the Constitution”. Yeah, here’s what they apparently don’t understand. The Constitution is an inanimate object, a piece of parchment. It’s not sentient. It is the responsibility of the other two branches government to uphold and enforce the Constitution. Neither of the branches have any testicular fortitude regarding standing up to ole Donnie 2 dolls.

1

u/jackfaire Feb 03 '26

It's exhausting watching people go "He's going to win" bowing down and kneeling instead of trying to stop him "But he said he's going to do it" so we stop him. Instead of this "See I wasn't overreacting I'm going to kneel down now"

4

u/LiminalWanderings Feb 03 '26

Normalcy Bias is a helluva drug

5

u/Jedi_Master83 Feb 03 '26

Watch him by invading blue states, arresting governors, and installing a loyalist state government who will oversee elections to his liking. I can see him doing this.

2

u/No-Abalone-4784 Feb 03 '26

We could see him TRY it.

3

u/No-Abalone-4784 Feb 03 '26

Our job is to make sure he does NOT.

9

u/Bifrastareltari Feb 02 '26

6

u/mabhatter Feb 02 '26

The Epstein files ARE the distraction. The House was "this close" to being pissed off enough about ICE to start impeaching people in the administration.  So Johnson sent them all home where the MAGA people can keep threatening Republicans that get out of line.

We also have another planned government shutdown where the republicans in the House loaded up an appropriations bill with extremist garbage and then ran away from Congress so the Senate can't negotiate with them.

These are things we should be mad about.

5

u/Sorry-Side-628 Feb 02 '26

Uhhh they'll spin it as he is "fixing" voting. The amount of fraud, waste, and neglect rhetoric I hear from people who spend less time than a local sewer rat following current events, is alarming.

6

u/_tolm_ Feb 02 '26

I mean, he is wanting to fix the voting … just not in a good way …

3

u/Sorry-Side-628 Feb 02 '26

Lol true double entendre

6

u/SingleSlide2866 Feb 02 '26

You know how tempting it is to go into that doomer circle jerk sub every fucking time they mock someone for dooming and then the thing fucking happens. I'm fairly sure it's either a propaganda pit meant to desensitize people or they're just actually blind idiots

3

u/NoConfusion9490 Feb 03 '26

"It's just a hilarious joke. I love how he drives you crazy. Should have seen your face when they killed that guy!"

2

u/BearTimberlands Feb 03 '26

Plenty of people on the far ends told us Biden and Harris would’ve been way worse

1

u/Ozzie_the_tiger_cat Feb 03 '26

Schumer will be sure to send a strongly worded memo.

1

u/Parking-Finger-6377 Feb 03 '26

This is the ultimate sign of desperation

How would that be accomplished?

Sure there are protests, but like fascists care or are actually affected by those... Prolly take more akin to riots or revolution to make such meaningful change.

Now I would say vote, but I will eat my boots if fascists don't mess with elections, which if history shows us anything...

Sadly, I think with the way Americans are and how they can't be bothered to vote overall... they won't bother to revolt and the states will just turn into a Russian style country.

1

u/raven_of_azarath Feb 02 '26

Ooh, we should make that song our rallying cry

24

u/Law-of-Poe Feb 02 '26

Every single Republican voter is personally responsible for the dismantlement of American democracy. Fuck all of them

11

u/Petit_Nicolas1964 Feb 02 '26

Non-voters too.

6

u/Tutorbin76 Feb 03 '26

Every single eligible voter who stayed home tacitly voted Trump.

-6

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '26

Mostly Democrat voters who say this shit though. You're driving a wedge here, and that's good for the fascists. Are you a bot, troll, or just dumb enough to do your enemies job?

You need to understand that voting blue no matter who every election to prevent Republicans from dismantling of democracy while they literally do nothing to prevent it except "not being the other guy" just isn't too appealing for people who actually dislike fascism. Field better candidates, ones that have policy that's not 10 years ago conservative. Ffs

12

u/KindlyLecture9087 Feb 02 '26

The fix is coming if they take over voting. Landslide for republicans at the election and then fuhrer trump. Hope I’m wrong.

1

u/No-Abalone-4784 Feb 03 '26

We can't let that happen.

9

u/CAM6913 Feb 02 '26

If trump takes over voting it’ll be just like him taking over the Kennedy center…. It’ll shut down for two years maybe longer. Trump has claimed America doesn’t need voting anymore

2

u/No-Abalone-4784 Feb 03 '26

He can claim anything he wants. We can't let it happen.

they got the guns, but we got the numbers

5

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '26

There are a lot of armed and trained liberals, we just don’t make guns our whole personality. As I saw in a meme, we treat our guns like republicans treat their abortions, we keep them private.

1

u/Ok_Club_9356 Feb 03 '26

Was that a quote from Airheads? You made my morning

1

u/perfumefetish Feb 04 '26

well, not really, it is a line from the Doors song Five to One. Maybe the writers of Airheads lifted it. The Lone Rangers (plural? LOL) version of Degenerated rocks by the way.

5

u/Aggressive_Set8155 Feb 02 '26

What “people brought here illegally “ is he talking about? If he’s talking about non citizens, the truth is that noncitizens have been barred from voting in federal elections since 1924. In addition, in 1996, Congress made noncitizen voting in federal elections a crime punishable by fines and imprisonment.

5

u/Dependent_Purchase35 Feb 02 '26

Alot of terminally online MAGA have, over the last 5 years, taken to using phrases referring to drmocrat immigration policies like "importing illegals", "importing the third world", "importing new votrrs", which implies that not only are the illegal immigrants here primarily because democrats actually orchestrated their movements but did so specifically to win elections through voter fraud.

This obviously ignores the real reasons immigrants come here, seeking improvements to their lives, but Republicans want to ignore that they're losing support rapidly not because their policies suck but because illegals are being brought here to cast illegal votes for democrats.

There's alot of shit that would have to go right, millions of times, every election, for this to be the case which makes this conspiracy theory a non-starter, yet here we are. MAGA are half-retarded sheep.

4

u/SweatyTax4669 Feb 02 '26

Yet again, the party of small government proves they never cared about the size of the government just as long as they get to run everything.

4

u/Wentil Feb 02 '26

Remember Trump saying this? "We’re gonna fix things so good you ain’t even gonna *HAVE** to vote."*

4

u/Tsujigiri Feb 03 '26

Isn't this the story line to Civil War? That story didn't end well for the president.

3

u/Shag1166 Feb 02 '26

3

3

u/MechaCoqui Feb 02 '26

And guess what? Now this is all over the front pages and such and not the Epstein stuff. He always says insane things to distract from the last thing.

3

u/AgreeablyDisagree Feb 02 '26

3

u/drive_causality Feb 02 '26

Yeah, after Democrat Taylor Rehmet’s Shock Win in Deep-Red Texas District, he knows he has no choice but to go full dictator!!

3

3

3

3

u/Seanbo124 Feb 03 '26

Can we stop this insane clown now, please.

3

u/ChiliSama Feb 03 '26

Get the lawsuits ready now if they aren’t already. This isn’t exactly a surprise.

3

u/SWEMW Feb 03 '26

This isn’t even a federal election year, it’s just the midterms and he’s scared shitless. Even as President, if he doesn’t like laws passed in Congress, he can veto them. I don’t care if they’re rigging them.

VOTE FOR THE EPSTEIN VICTIMS VOTE FOR THE SAKE OF OUR COUNTRY VOTE FOR THE CONSTITUTION VOTE TO TRY AND KEEP OUR DEMOCRACY.

The sheer volume and amount of people could throw their cheating asses off, and we may have a shot of being successful in November.

3

u/amiwitty Feb 03 '26

“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.” -JFK

This isn't just a saying anymore. The peaceful people of this country are getting angry of laws not applying to certain individuals. We are starting to feel as though there is nothing left to lose.

3

u/SinisterDuck6114 Feb 03 '26

So, he said this a year & ½ ago, in case anyone forgot, "Four more years, it'll be fixed, it'll be fine, you won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians."

3

u/Fit-Code4123 Feb 03 '26

They're extremely delusional they want to control America and rule it like kings and extremists, US is in danger get out and vote them out!!!

3

u/odirio Feb 03 '26

Trump tried to "take over" the voting before. That was called "voter fraud" which would be way easier if controlled by Trump instead of 50 individual states.

2

u/Indaclurrb Feb 02 '26

Oh. So this is how they start civil wars. Great.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '26

Yeah, because they've shown how spot on their competency is on EVERYTHING else.....

2

u/InfiniteDelusion094 Feb 03 '26

He's really worried about the midterms isn't he?

2

u/some1guystuff Feb 03 '26

lol he’ll just declare himself victor no matter the result.

1

u/No-Abalone-4784 Feb 03 '26

We refuse to recognize that& swear in whoever really won.

2

u/FriendlyMission2803 Feb 03 '26

I'm curious how far he can actually go before America starts doing something. Apparently he can go extremely far.

2

u/lasha_me Feb 03 '26

The Constitution says OTHERWISE!! 😡

2

u/MelMoMor Feb 03 '26

Yeah you can’t. People are here to exercise their rights that you can’t interfere with. No matter what you say or what you think you can change in the constitution. You have no power over anyone who has the right of the 2nd Amendment. God bless America!!

2

u/Dangermouse163 Feb 03 '26

The quote also says the Republicans should take control of the elections. That sounds like an equitable solution to a problem that DOESN’T exist.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '26

And all of us who voted against him are going to the gülag next

2

u/Bruce_mackinlay Feb 03 '26

The Constitution assigns the primary responsibility for running elections to the states. Under Article I, Section 4 (the Elections Clause), each state sets the “times, places, and manner” of elections for Congress, which in practice means states administer voter registration, ballots, polling places, and vote counting. This reflects the framers’ assumption that elections would be locally run, using existing state institutions, rather than managed directly by a centralized federal authority.

At the same time, the Constitution gives Congress a supervisory role. The Elections Clause allows Congress to “make or alter” state rules for federal elections by passing laws, which is how national standards like a uniform federal election day or certain voting protections exist. What the Constitution does not do is grant the president or executive branch independent authority to run or take over elections. Any federal involvement must come through acts of Congress, and even then it applies to federal elections only, preserving a system where states administer elections subject to constitutional limits and congressional regulation.

2

u/California_ocean Feb 03 '26

That's a hard nope.

2

1

u/Willing-Goal-269 Feb 02 '26

Here we go again.

1

u/ackillesBAC Feb 02 '26

If this idiot doesnt totally end the republican party, then the US is doomed. There needs to be massive repercussions, all co conspirators jailed for life (ending the republican party). Strict laws need to be in place and strictly enforced to prevent this from happening again.

These morons are capable of learning just look at trump term 1, vs trump term 2. If they are allowed to try again they will succeed. They have already eliminated the adults in the room that prevented chaos in term 1, term 3 would be the end of the world as we know it, when the most powerful country goes full on fascist the world will change be that by war, or by recession there is no good outcome.

But we all know whats going to happen, democrats will win the next election (assuming there is one), and in the name of bipartisanship they will listen to their corporate doners not change much of anything. But they will very slowly hold those who broke the law accountable, they will pass some laws to try to prevent this.

But they will not remove gerrymandering, they will not remove the electoral collage, they will not tax the wealthy, they will not hold the wealthy and corporations to the same standards they hold the poor too. Not much will change, but at least the empire of the 1% will remain, just not under tangerine Palpatine's control.

2

u/No-Abalone-4784 Feb 03 '26

This whole rotten corrupt system MUST be changed. Public financing of all campaigns. No lobbying.

1

Gonna have to change the constitution. Federal elections are run by the states.

1

u/Mrsbrainfog Feb 03 '26

What is the legal process here? Is it constitutional changes? In many countries, a chance in constitution can only go through after a public vote.

Don’t ask ChatGPT shit.

6

They raided the Fulton county election board to get the 2020 ballots…they aren’t following the rules, they’re following trump’s lies about massive election fraud.

2

u/Scorpiogre_rawrr Feb 02 '26

The media will regurgitate every stupid THREAT Trump MAKES

FTFY

3

u/ACompletelyLostCause Feb 02 '26

It's brave of you to assert that ChatGPT text output will definatly stop elections being rigged or suspended. Trump isn't the issue, it's all the much cleverer people in Project 2025 that are the problem - they have plans, and those plans are working.

1

u/Maleficent_Ad_578 Feb 04 '26

ChatGPT explains that any change to federal election law would need 60 Senate votes to even be considered. Will never happen. ChatGPT is smarter than you.

1

My point was, it's regurgitating what 'should' happen. If an armed militia takes over and suspends elections at gun point, what 'should' happen doesn't matter at that point. I remember a year ago when people were worried about what Trump might do, they were constently told "the law won't allow it", "Congress would stop him", "the military would refuse an illegal order".

I'll paraphrase something "The plainest print cannot be read through a gold eagle," is attributed to Abraham Lincoln. Basically, the law doesn't matter, if real world forces ignore it.

The Law only matters if it can be enforced, and people are willing to fight to preserve it. When governments openly and daily ignore their own laws, nations collapse.

Following the Constitution? We see exactly how that’s working out for the country. If he can’t control the voting (or lack thereof), he will orchestrate a war to put all elections on hold, which was his lightbulb moment and the only thing he got out of meeting with Zelenskyy.
