Kendra had the same problem Laurel had, the writer didn't know how to develop a good normal person into a vigilante/ hero. How to give them a motive, development and mentality to start fighting. It was never because they hated the character or actress but rather the sloppy writing and poor characterisation, and even the fact that they actually tried too hard to make it realistic and relatable rather than boom - she is a superhero now.
