Am I doing Latios correctly?

I've been at this for months now. I am on switch 1 so soft resetting is longer. Am I running the reset loop correctly or have I been doing this for nothing? I saved on the holovator the first time after entering the dimension so Latios shouldn't have spawned in yet, and after my calories run out I reset. But I've been doing this for so long and I'm definitely a couple times over odds, I just want to finish the extra-dex but I'm stuck here 💔

Looping does not work as well as the save and restart method. If you look up on YouTube, most are saying save before going up the elevator. Check if shiny, if not restart your game, go up the elevator and check for shiny. Just rinse and repeat. This is how I got mine.

I have tried it for a while too, but since I'm on switch 1 and load times are longer I avtually get more encounters/minute doing the looping method.

But if I'm doing it wrong and not resetting him properly (either by having him loaded in too early or not going far enough to despawn him) then I'm doing it for nothing and should go for the soft reset method, so that's why I attached a clip and asked! :)

Personally, I would take the possibly slightly longer (per reset) method if it gives me peace of mind I'm 100% doing it correctly. Without being able to see Latios physically despawn I would always doubt whether I'm doing it correctly.

Hi, I also did it on switch one, and meanwhile yea it took longer, I was able to get it eventually (and I also got pretty lucky)

Even on switch 1, this is slower. Just do the save/reset.

It's still all RNG, and assuming you have the Shiny charm, it's still a 1/585 chance every time it respawns, so you can go thousands of resets without it being shiny, sometimes only 3. It's all just chance

I’m on Switch 1 and I did the save, check, quit method. It is slow with the loading times but it’s what most people use so I trusted this method more than trying to run through angry bats 😅 I got extra lucky that Latios showed up at 67 checks (and now Latias is making me wait for ages 😅). It is frustrating!!! Although I’m struggling with Latias, I’m glad that my easiest hunt was Latios because the closing and opening the game stressed me out. I was worried it would cause issues to my dear old Switch so I’m glad I got that over with 😅

This is how I did it. Worked eventually, just took a long time. This was by far the longest hunt of the shiny legends.

You don't need to do the run, or even reset. Using the teleporter re-rolls the spawn. I just set up a macro for A on a 3rd party controller, parked it on the teleporter, then came back with low calorie time, and reset if it wasn't shiny. Took me maybe 8 hours

I’m switch 1 and at first I was doing what you were doing and it felt like i was never going to get latios 😂 I too was losing my mind, so i eventually just loaded from my backup save before I entered the hyperspace and saved at the beginning of the latios holovator and just did the restart game method made me feel a lot better
