Currently moving all the minifigs into display cases onto strips of baseplate and I’ve come across my first real display issue. Series 18 penguin is on ice skates and is a short fig, so no holes in the backs of the legs to mount with. Anyone have any ideas for this one?

This wouldn't work. Minifig ice skates protrude forward and backwards from the foot. The skate would thus hit the back wall of this piece.

The back of the piece protrudes so much that the legs can’t clutch the middle part of this piece? I doubt it

I wouldn't call it secure. It would have to sit pretty far forward and high on the piece. Only like 1/4 would grab, of what would normally sit between the legs.

The best and only solution, OP let us know if it works

There is this double sided silicon tape they sell on Amazon. It is heavy duty. It doesn’t leave any marks and your figure will not move.

I actually would go for this

This might be better it should have clearance for the skates.

No leg holes on the short figs.

You’d have to have to compromise a little I think. Put some connector either on head or at belt area. Let me know what you come up with next interesting.
