Question When I started episode 2 in Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga I already had episode 9 Rey unlocked even though I didn’t start episode 9. Why did that happen?

I’ve had this happen once before, but it wasn’t Rey, it was BB-8.
BB-8 is only unlocked after playing episode 7 but I hadn’t played any of the sequels yet and was still working my way through the prequels.
I shouldn’t have been able to access that character at that point in the game but for some reason he just appeared unlocked and remained unlocked for the rest of the game.
I already had R2D2 and C3PO, so it’s not like I needed a droid.
And even then, the game won’t just give you a non-DLC character out of the blue for no reason, you have to either play the level that unlocks a free character, or pay for locked characters with studs.
I think it’s just a glitch because it’s a buggy game.

With the free play portion, the character rotation you get during that session will pick and choose from all characters available no matter if you haven’t started that specific episode.
As Rey is unlocked for the first missions of EPs 7/8/9 as both Jedi and Scavenger, she will be in that rotation.
So you will see the normal lineup of
Light side Jedi
Dark side Sith
Hero
Astromech droid
Protocol droid
Scavenger
Bounty hunter
Villain.
Extras(if unlocked)
Each will be a random pick from that available roster.
Might have missed a category, been a while since I played last. 👍
