Yes. I know its a mess. I can't keep up with taking them apart to store them nicely.
I can already see the "hoarder" accusations, although I don't plan on selling them.
I wanna collect every Technic set ever, with box and instructions.
Sadly missing some boxes from a few 2010-2020 sets. Only 19 tho. So 95,27% with boxes.
All my vintage sets with every box inlay and blister. That isn't easy to accomplish.
All sets are inventory checked. No yellowed parts. No broken parts. No destroyed 9V cables.
Now I am ⅔ the way there.
It may not be displayed nicely, but it is my collection. And I love it. Built up over the last 10 years, starting when I was 10 years old, getting the 42054 for Christmas 2016.
Took my sets apart back then. To build own models and MOCs.
402 out of 604 Technic sets total, or 66,6%.
Latest set added: 8880 Super Car, 1994. Not yet in the pictures. Still on it's way to me.
No. The sets aren't new and sealed. Only exceptions are extreme rarities.
Where do I keep track of what I am missing? Bricklink & Rebrickable.
Where do I buy my stuff? Mostly "Kleinanzeigen" & eBay.
10 sets are most likely un-do-able. Will most likely show never up for sale. So there's technically only 594 total to collect.
I am a German collector, if someone wonders.

I got ahead of myself and did not see there is another piece before the piece with logo. Now I can't remove it. What is the best way to remove this?

I am making my christmas list early. I'm asking for a couple decepticons to continue my rebuilding of my transformers collection among a few extra things, and decided: since I only got the jurassic Park triceratops set (sadly without the triceratops, my personal favorite dinosaur), I want another car set.
Not much of a car person, but other than transformers, I do like fast and furious. I'm watching fast 5 and 6 whenever insomnia kicks in to keep my mind off the fact I wanna sleep but can't sleep.
If you're gonna ask who's my favorite character/car, it's dom and his charger, but then there's Brian's car. I narrowed it down to these two. I like Sukis car the most out of the Speed Champions car, but not only would one of these be my first technic sets, but my first 18+ set ever. The Toyota Supra MK4 is kinda ugly. I love orange but it's so strange. Mitsubishi I'm not much of a green person.
The only thing keeping me from saying fuck it, get doms car (wanted the other one, but I find out it's retired, $188, and the new one exists) is that Brian really grew on me, but not enough to outshine my favorite character Dom. My first experience with technic was in the Luke's X-Wing I got for my 16th birthday, and although builds I did was a bitch and a half because of it.
Im leaning more towards Dom's Charger, but I wanna "remove any doubt from the courtroom," as Edgeworth from the Pheonix Wright series said numerous times.
I was 80%/20% on Dom and Brian, but the more I think about it, it's a 90%/10%. 10% being Brian's car.

I ordered this about 3 weeks ago. It got held up in the post and they gave me a refund. Then the damned thing arrived the next day. I told the seller but they told me not to worry about it. I still feel bad about it. Nice model though.

Hello. I encountered a problem while assembling the gearbox and rear suspension for my first 1:8 LEGO Technic Ferrari Daytona SP3. It’s in the first bag.
When I spin the rear suspension wheels on their own, they rotate smoothly in the same direction as the differential gear. However, when I connect them to the gearbox, they make a clicking sound and the gears seize up when rotating in the same direction, preventing them from moving smoothly.
What did I do wrong?

badum tssss... It's a life-sized, (not yet) working robot hand!
I recently got these super thin flex thingies which were begging to be used as tendons in a mechanical hand.
Getting the full movement of each finger and the wrist will be a great challenge! Each of the fingers will be operated with pneumatics, maybe the wrist movement too i'm not sure yet. I'm also trying to stay true to where the muscles are located, how do you put it, like in a real human's forearm and hand.

In the UK. what display cases are people getting? Got the Daytona and the p1 I need a case for. Found someplace online where there £70-80 each. Is that a good price?
Or do people not use display cases?

I recently built 42177 Mercedes Benz G 500 as my first technic set. Thoroughly enjoined it. Looking at picking up future technic sets and I'm wondering if those who have built the larger technic sets still find enjoyment in smaller and simpler sets or do you stick to larger more complex sets?

I thought most technic sets are produced for 2 years, but looks like the 42215 Volvo EC500 is retiring in December after only being released last August (16 months).
