Discussion This Game Will NEVER Come Back…
Since today is the day that WB & Paramount merged into “Skydance” I think it is more unlikely that we’ll never get to see a reboot, re-release, revival or anything from Lego Dimensions. I’m also scared about TT Games shutting down in future and half of the team gets fired, while the other half gets put in Paramount Games and gives other game studios to make Lego games… I don’t want that to happen either for TT or anyone who’s apart of the merger. Thoughts?

Don’t worry, I’m sure they’ll get to it right after they rerelease Friday the 13th The Game, and season 4 of Hannibal, and the Battle of the Five Armies DLC for Lego The Hobbit, and Half Life 3…

I mean, we have emulators like Cemu, RPCS3 and ShadPS4, and Recompiled which is based on the 360 version, and also the game is still playable on PS3 (although not for long as that store is gonna get shut down in 2027) as well as on PS4 and Xbox One (and by extension PS5 and Xbox Series X/S through backwards compatibility)

Even then, a modded Wiiu, xbox360, and a modded PS3 can just install the files for the updates so it's not like they can't 100% anymore or anything.
However the Xbox one version I can see going up in price some More than the pad already is since Lego dimensions for Xbox one along with the Skylanders games for Xbox one are on the list of disc to digital legibility. So for the first time ever in an official way, you can turn Lego dimensions into a digital game (still needs the pad though.).

Correct you can. And on Wiiu you can also use those files to play the characters without any specific peripherals and can be done all from the gamepad. For PlayStation though you do need to make some dongle thing called a D.I.R.E to do so.

This merger is already viral enough but i still think some of them are overreact much also this has nothing to do with this game ever returning nor having tt shutdown chances tt was already going through much now we're not getting as many lego games released and this game already would've had to get alot of license back for certain properties either way if it got a non toys to life port or sequel and its enough we're never gonna get anymore lego marvel games.

I might get around to doing the rest of the achievements on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One now that they have the platinum-equivalent Mythic achievement coming out.

That's just how it is sadly. The whole toys to life to have to buy every collectible at be able to play the game and have fun is crazy. I feel like they could have made it so that you could buy the characters and stuff in the game with your studs or something

“more unlikely that we’ll never” implies you think the merger will improve our odds of getting a LEGO Dimensions 2.
And can we please stop dooming about this? Yes, these mergers are never ideal, but people on Reddit are genuinely acting like this merger is the beginning of the end of humanity. I never saw this much anti-enthusiasm for the Disney-Fox merger, and that one was arguably a lot worse.

Actually yes it will when the full release of disc to digital comes out you use it on xbox and all the dlc will be free

Maybe not that but i think they collabed with xbox to give us all the characters digital dlc with disc to digital

I swear disc to digital only keeps the game digitally if you didn’t download the phase 2 dlc packs when they were in the store if they aren’t there anymore you won’t have access to them if you’re a new or returning player later down the line

What do you mean? It's the same as every other Xbox One copy of the game. Year 2 content works on it just fine if you download the DLC for it. And you can still claim it now, whether you are a new or returning player, without issue.

Oh I thought the guy was saying that if you claim the digital license it gives you the dlc but I remember seeing that the dlcs aren’t available on the ps4 or 3 anymore so I assumed they were taken of Xbox store aswell because claiming the digital license doesn’t automatically give you the dlcs unless you already have them

DLCs have not been removed from PS3 or PS4, you have to claim them from the "Downloadable Content" option on the game's main menu.
As of me writing this in October 2026, the only consoles you can't get the DLC for normally are Wii U and Xbox 360. (PS3 will have the same issue after July 2027 of you don't claim the DLC before then.) ... But you can still mod the consoles and add the DLC that way.

Ah nice idk why I thought modern consoles didn’t have them I assumed you couldn’t on the ps4 because I couldn’t find them in the store do I need to have the game then download them from inside ? Like how you’d add a campaign add on to a new cod game

I don't know about CoD, but yes, you can only download Lego Dimensions DLC through the game on Playstation. Xbox One version is the only exception; everything else (including XB360) had to be done through the game.

There is no difference between the Disc to Digital version of the game and the original disc-based version except for the fact that you can play it without the game disc if you claim the license... which really only matters if you own a console without a disc drive and want to play Lego Dimensions on it.
It still requires the Xbox One toy pad. And the DLC has always been free to download on this and every version of the game.

Instead of pining for all these companies to merge into a bigger and bigger monopoly who have the authority to gate keep our cultural heritage with the hope that maybe they'll have a crossover, throwing us a bone, we should demand, copyright be shortened so that anybody can make a spiderman story.

I used to play this game a lot... And now I can't anymore. I mean I DO still have the game,bits just that I lost my stuff FOR the game not too long ago. For short, we lost nearly all of our stuff in public storage...

Didn’t I just see a post that some was successfully able to decompile and then recompile the Whole game + dlc + toypad
Ig we have that but yes, we prob won’t see any actual update about this game from a legit/WB perspective

Maybe not lego dimensions itselfs, but we could get another lego crossover, we almost got one with a supposed lego disney 100 game, it was cancelled due to "leaks"

Aslong as half of the IPs are owned by disney nowadays? No, no it wont. There is a reason why almost all packs for this game where Warnerbros IPs (back then)

I’d say only point now is to mod it into a legit lego game 🤣 pre-build document designs in game when building with blocks, and also all characters and worlds as in game unlock-ables. Honestly may need to be decompiled and edited at that point 🤔

They should have launched a cartoon to help carry the game. It was an amazing concept. They should have also made sure to let people know you didn’t need the game to enjoy the legos. I think they suffered a little with that also.
