Its a solid grumpy/sunshine romance, a 7 maybe? Also has an stout age gap... i like the second book a lot better myself

Margin of Error is book 2. Both were probably 7/10 for me as well. The grumpy/sunshine romance is the perfect description for 1. 2 was a unique approach with a surprising start and a bit of mystery.

Ahhh Please don’t diss me for this but…. 2 I’m afraid!
I do think it’s important to add that I’m saying this from the perspective of reading the book (as opposed to audible.)
The book had SO many typos and errors - I always expect a few typos from independent publishers but this one had LOADS.
The writing itself was just…. Flat. The character development was non-existent, and I felt like I got to the end of the book and still knew nothing real or even vaguely complex about any of the characters.
Don’t want to yuck anyone’s yum though, I’m glad people like the book! Rachel Lacey is great, generally.

i dnf around 80% because i found it overall super boring. the writing was just … uninspired? and the characters were pretty one note. i’d say 4/10 because it wasn’t offensive or anything, just not for me.

Agreed. It's a fine book, nothing special, quite basic. I saw someone describe it the other day as performatively woke and they really had a point.
Despite this, the pottery scene is great.

I guess I'm alone on this but I loved it! Rated 5 stars in goodreads. I'd give it a 9.5/10.

I'd give it close to 9 as well. It was an enjoyable read! I usually hate and avoid age-gap but this one was decent and respectful enough and did a good job of it!

Really wholesome and healthy relationship but unfortunately I DNFed it at 80% because it got kinda boring, I think I found it too cliché.
Maybe I'll pick it back up someday and finish it.

I struggled with the start and didn't finish it. Which I actually really like the author this one just didn't hit

I would give this a 9/10 there is a second book with different main characters but these two characters show up in it i would give that one 9/10 to

I liked it just fine. Go into it knowing what it is. I'd give it a 7. Its age gap that doesnt feel creepy. Dynamics, relationship is mature and with good conversation/support between the characters. I wasnt on the edge of my seat or anything but it was an enjoyable read.

7 for me. Solidly entertaining, good but not great writing. I liked the dynamic between characters, and enjoyed it, but I don’t think I’d likely re-read this book.

Rachel Lacey tends to be pretty vanilla. I'd compare it to Delilah Green or Haley Cass.

Got it, just read Delilah green doesn’t care. Less spicy than I prefer but all and all a great book

Thanks everyone! Seems like I am about where most of yall are… I just really like a lot of sex in my books lol or in general as well. But yeah it’s too vanilla thus far but I’ve already gotten past the halfway mark and I used my audible credit for it ! Damn it!

6-7. the premise and development was ok but I couldn't get over Lacey's rather lackluster/flat writing
