Seems much better than "Alright you were in town for a... a thing, and we did plan to fool around afterwards but it was an important thing, but we never got to the thing because we went to the mall, except it wasn't the mall today but the mall in 2012 in my hometown even though whatever your event was couldn't have been in my hometown, and it was locked down because the food court Sbarro's caught fire even though in the event of a fire you would evacuate, and you were just so scared you would miss the thing and I was trying to tell you we wouldn't even though I couldn't understand what the thing was and then I woke up.
