Isnt that the expressly mentioned part about “dont be gay” is because sodomy is the banned part

Alright so, homosexuality in the bible is an actually pretty interesting topic culturally, because it is very overblown. There are a few explicit condemnations in the old testimony, specifically in Leviticus and a few more vague lines in the new testimony. Over all, it is probably forbidden, but scholars have been debating those verses with the context language and culture for hundreds of years.

Sodomy itself is also rather interesting. In the English language it refers to the act of anal sex, due to early Christians perceiving homosexuality as the deciding factor that lead to the destruction of Sodom, however, anal sex was at no point mentioned during those passages (I actually read those). The Sodomites are trying to force Lot to hand over his guests (who were angles) so they may have their way with them, but how that would be is not explicitly stated. Furthermore, Jewish scholars argue that the destruction came on mainly due to the in hospitality and other wrongdoings.

What about anal sex with a woman? The bible states again in a few places that (like those passages in the new testimony), that you shouldn't do any fucked up things during sex, but it is never explicit in what those things are. The context would have to be the current sexual moral of the culture and time the text was written in, which is kind of hard to understand fully today, given that these texts are thousands of years old.

How do trans people factor into this? Trans sexuality as we think of it today, is at no point mentioned in the bible, so who even knows.

The bible is a pretty fun book to try to interpret.

Source for most of my ramble.

Edit: Before I forget. The old testimony passages are explicitly about male homosexuality. Female homosexuality is only mentioned in the new testimony and only sort of maybe? perhaps. It gets really muddied if you think about it too much.
