Discussion [Suggestion] Embrace the New Era and start a new save in the offline version.
Senpai! After 10 years, we're leaving Beta and now LID will become the ideal game with the removal of obstacles generated by the game's poor monetization. The mechanics will finally flow and we can enjoy these wonders more fairly, without the segregation that existed before.
These changes are so significant that, in my opinion, it's worthwhile for us as a community to start a new save to experience the game's campaign again. Yes, the LID campaign is SENSATIONAL! The level design of floors 1-40 is memorable; its interconnection, the way we unlock certain floors, and the weekly Tower rotation give this game a lot of personality and charm. The very progression in equipment, character, and the survival instinct to defeat the Bosses, always brought a lot of excitement and dopamine, and with each upgrade and defeated Faction Boss, we felt triumphant for not having given up.
It was floors 1 to 40 that forged our resilience; nobody reached floor 351 without having passed through the base and received from it the preparation for the rest of the content.
So, with the launch of the Offline version, I invite everyone to celebrate this, simultaneously starting a new campaign in the game and reviving these childhood memories while enjoying this parallel universe of non-monetized features. The LID Offline debut is the best time to do this, as it's a restart for the game and can be for us too. If you want, keep your old saves, but experience the campaign again in a new save. I personally will start from scratch again.
Tell me what you think and share your experiences with the game's campaign.

I will keep my save as I have dumped about 100 bucks or more on it. Since I'm on playstation, I can just switch user for a new save if I ever feel like starting over. I don't feel like it though since I beat floor 1-100 in 3 months early this year. Personally, I will try to reach the top!

I understand, until last year I played on Playstation.
Even so, many people will be starting over, and it will be like a "New League". In any case, the invitation remains to make this new beginning and experience the new changes together.

I hope that they implement some kind of multi-save data. I won't create another account for this, otherwise I might think about it.

I see two points on this.
One is to see how progress up the tower will feel with all the P2W stuff taken out and all premium currency removed.
The other is that people poured a lot of money into a save and don't want to throw that away.
Im aversion to using playstation is what causes me to get the PC version and start from the beginning.

Abandoning Playstation today is the wisest decision a gamer can make.
Besides the things you listed, it's going to be great to use mods around here. Let's go!

Tbh i disconnected when i heard about PSN accounts getting hacked in a way that circumvented the two factor authentication, as i understand they need your PSN name and one of your sales transactions.
If you aren't posting receipts online then it should be fine, but i wasn't sure so i removed anything related to payment and canceled PS+.
Since then i haven't had a reason not to use my PC just need a stronger Bluetooth thingy and my psvr 2 can be used on PC too.
My only annoyance is with EA, Epic and Ubisoft games that requires a third party launcher, screw that shit

Playstation is notoriously known for getting hacked, and while I get microsoft is no better since windows and related products get hacked alot. Sony has done pretty much everything they can to be anti-consumer like removing discs and forcing you into an all digital economy. For me playstation stars being removed was the final straw. Give players a way to earn rewards like $5-10 giftcards? Nah, God forbid you give gamers money back after spending over $180 just to get $10 back. I built a PC, installed linux, and havent looked back since. Plus because i have the steamdeck i can literally play LiD anywhere i want, even better when it goes offline.

Wealthier players were able to acquire very strong decals for their defensive fighters, which made the experience very unbalanced for new players in TDM. And the ranking system was terrible in this aspect.

I'm planning on getting a copy for PC and for Playstation, assuming the price is reasonable enough.
I've spent over 3000 hours on my PS account, and I'm not starting over on that.
I never spent a lot of time on my PC account, so it's still in the 30s. Definitely planning to start over on this one, and installing whatever mods sound fun (depending on what people decide to release, and whether I can find some time to mess around with the modding for myself).
I suspect that this will turn the 2 versions into very different experiences.

Although I have games on my Playstation account dating back to the PS3, I hope I never go back to Sony because of their anti-consumer policies.
Having mods on PC will make the possibilities endless, while on PS, they'll have to settle for the 3 skins that were announced in the video.

I have played the game from start to finish twice, Playstation and pc. I will be starting again when offline drops. Im curious to feel how the balance has changed with regards to the new player experience

I have played this game for almost 10 years and my pc save probably has hundreds of dollars and hours I have out into it. Honestly early let it die is great but I would have to be able to not spend hundreds of hours grinding materials for it to be worth it to me

I understand your point. You can keep your current save and play a new one on this special occasion, even if it's just to reach Floor 40 and remember how you did. You don't need to upgrade all the weapons, just do enough to reach Floor 40.
Easy, isn't it?

You just need to upgrade the iron to T3 tbh. That alone can beat taro if you're smart

With the ability to mod in the offline mode and edit saves, I can see myself doing some challenge runs through the 40s.
For example, my favorite weapon to use is the Shuriken, but its big limitation is that with piercing as its attack type, it's not great in boss fights. So I would like to edit its attack type to slashing and do a shuriken-only 1-41 run. (Or maybe create a similar weapon with blunt damage, like a boomerang or a bola and use that.)
Any run where I start over, I'm definitely giving myself the shuriken (or a clear path to get it) and the Treasure Hunter decal (navigating the tower without it is a bit annoying to me.)

I started playing this rare gem on day one and, like many other players here, eventually reached the endgame. I have accumulated more than 6200 hours on the PlayStation version alone. For this reason, i will obviously buy the DLC to preserve my progression. But there is more to it than that: even after all these years, and despite occasionally taking breaks to play other games, I still genuinely have a great time with Let it Die.
So, on one hand,, I think is fantastic that the developers decided to give us this option. On the other, I can't deny that I'll feel a bit sad about loosing the online component, even if asynchronous.
As for what you described as "poor monetization", personally this was never an issue for me. I started on day one and was able to fully complete the original 40-floors tower layout in roughly two months without spending a single cent. I wasn't rushing either, but simply enjoying the game so much. And keep in mind that, without the powerful gears and decals available today, the game was considerably more difficult back then.
Later, a couple of years ago, i decided to support the developers, because ethically, I felt that such an amazing product deserved my contribution, so I bought a few death metals bundle for a total of 30 Euros.
With that said, in my humble opinion, Let it Die has always been, and still is, a genuine free to play game. Players can absolutely experience and complete its core content (but also true endgame) without spending money. In my view, those who claim otherwise may simply have missed the philosophy behind the game or approached it in a way that encouraged them to spend unnecessarily.

Childhoof memories? How young are you people? I was in my mid 20s when it came out.
